Rick Story fought twice in the span of a month and pulled off an upset victory over Thiago Alves, but then lost against last minute substitute, Charlie Brenneman.
Now Story is calling out his next opponent to get back on track for a shot at UFC welterweight gold.
"Dong Hyun Kim," Story told MMAJunkie.com about who he'd like to fight next.
Kim and Story were both on their way up the metaphorical welterweight mountain when both were knocked down a few pegs in their last fights.
Kim was undefeated until a loss against Carlos Condit at UFC 132 in early July gave him the first blemish on his record.
Story lost by unanimous decision against Brenneman at UFC on Versus 4 after he was suppose to face Nate Marquardt. Marquardt was not allowed to fight and subsequently taken off the card and was cut from the UFC.
Brenneman took the fight on only a days notice.
Story though thinks Kim is a ticket back into the good graces of the welterweight division and with a win over Kim, it will prove Brenneman's win was just lucky.
"I think it will solidify that the last fight was kind of a fluke, and it would [rebuild] some of that lost momentum," said Story.
Story already has a date in mind for his fight with Kim.
"I'd like to do it at UFC 139 on Nov. 19."
