Demain Maia a UFC middleweight fighter from Brazil will be making his return to the Octagon at UFC 91. He will be fighting Nathan Quarry, Quarry’s last fight could go down as the biggest joke in UFC history.
Nathan Quarry was fighting Kalib Starnes and the whole fight was just a gong show. Quarry would advance, Kalib would keep backing up avoiding contact. The most entertaining part of the fight was the mocking of Starnes by Quarry in the final seconds of the fight. Obviously Quarry went on to win the fight via unanimous decision. Starnes no longer fights for the UFC.
Quarry does have a bit of a challenge on his hands this time though. He will be facing Maia, a Jui-Jitsu specialist. Maia’s last three fights have netted him some extra cash for Submission of the night so no doubt we will be in for quite a show when November 15th rolls around.
Question is though, can Demian Maia defeat Nathan Quarry and keep his unbeaten record intact? Personally I think he will and in good fashion too. It would be great if Maia could become more well known and get a fight against Anderson Silva before Silva retires. Brazilian vs. Brazilian for the Middleweight Championship. It would also make that fight so much better if Maia could go into it with an unbeaten record.
