WrestleMania 28: What We Need to See

Marc QuarantaJun 7, 2018

WrestleMania 28 is getting a lot of talk, which is rare for being so early in the year. Usually, the WrestleMania chatter doesn't begin until around November and the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View, but thanks to Rock, Cena and CM Punk, the talk has begun extra early.

This is what I think WrestleMania 28 should look like.

The Rock vs John Cena

1 of 7

This is the only match that is official and set in stone. This one is going to "Rock" the house. Being in Miami, Florida, The Rock's hometown, and the fact he is facing Cena, who draws the biggest reaction, love or hate, from any crowd.

John Cena doesn't stand a chance at surviving this one. The crowd will tear him apart worse than ECW did, but we all know Cena's chances of winning are quite high.

United States Championship: Sheamus vs Mason Ryan

2 of 7

Every championship needs to be on the line at WrestleMania, and the WWE has failed to realize that over the last couple years. Sheamus is about to be turned face, and that makes this match possible. People have always liked Sheamus (whether it was like him or like to hate him). The guy is a great wrestler and a great character.

Mason Ryan hasn't been heard from in a while because of injury, but when he gets back, he can be a monster. He has the physique of a star and can be with the right push. Put the United States Championship belt on him.

This could be a fun feud (if WWE gives the mid card decent writing) and could be a great opening match for the show.

Scramble Match for the Intercontinental Championship

3 of 7

Ezekial Jackson vs Kofi Kingston vs Rey Mysterio vs Justin Gabriel vs Ted Dibiase vs Evan Bourne vs Dolph Ziggler vs Kane vs John Morrison vs R-Truth

This match needs to happen for two reasons: 1. It would show off a lot of guys' talents, but more importantly...

2. There has always been a WrestleMania match where it's nothing but nonstop action, constant movement and a number of competitors. It started at Mania 16 in the triangle ladder match, 17 had the TLC match and there have been numerous MITB matches. And because of the new MITB ppv, that ladder match doesn't happen at WrestleMania anymore, so put a match like this in there.

Scramble match goes for a time limit with as many pins as possible, and the last pin before time runs out is the champion. A simple, fun match.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭

WWE Championship: The Miz vs Alberto Del Rio

4 of 7

Last year's Wrestlemania's two new kids in the Championship picture go one-on-one this year for the WWE Championship.

The Miz would be a face that people learn to love. This guy's charisma is a poor man's version of The Rock and Chris Jericho, and trust me, a poor man's version of that is a compliment! Those are two hard guys to follow on the mic, but the Miz is holding is own. He will never be either one of those guys, but he has the charisma, and when the WWE decides to turn him face, people are going to be drawn to this guy.

Alberto Del Rio can wrestle, and he has the potential to be a big heel in this company. He could be one of the best heels since Edge was in late 2005. He has that kind of potential.

These two could build a great feud and have a great championship match.

World Championship: Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan vs Wade Barrett vs Cody Rhodes

5 of 7

Again, time to get new names in the Championship main event matches and surround them by the star that is Randy Orton.

Randy Orton walks into the match as the World Champion.

Daniel Bryan keeps his word and cashes in his Money In The Bank briefcase in the main event at WrestleMania.

Cody Rhodes, who has been killing it since his beautiful disaster character was born, wins the royal rumble. Yes, Cody Rhodes WINS THE ROYAL RUMBLE.

And HHH, being yet again everyone's favorite guy to hate, would claim Wade Barrett as his "new guy" and place him in the match so that "his guy" would be the new World Heavyweight Championship.

Three up and coming stars that have proven themselves in the ring. Wade has been quiet since his break from Nexus, but the guy needs a title run. Daniel Bryan has gotten into the hearts of the fans, and Cody Rhodes is killing in the ring. Throw in the Viper, and you have a fantastic four way title match.

The Streak Is on the Line: The Undertaker vs CM Punk

6 of 7

This one isn't about championships, or #1 condenter's spots, this one isn't even about things on a personal level. This is about CM Punk adding to his new gimmick of being the Best Wrestler in The World.

This all started during CM Punk's now famous "shoot" interview when he stated that it "disguted him that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is in the main event and he is not." It makes him sick.

So Punk challenges the Undertaker not to only end the streak but it would be a slap in the face to The Rock and Cena, because no matter what the card has been like over the last five or six years the Undertaker's streak has been the most talked about match.

CM Punk would be on top of the WWE world again, which has been the best thing for the WWE in years.

Winner Gets Control of the WWE: HHH vs Stone Cold (On Behalf of Vince McMahon)

7 of 7

There has been talk of HHH vs CM Punk at Mania, which is a great match, but this one would mean MUCH MUCH MORE!

HHH is going heel very shortly, and I can see that character abusing his new power and doing things that causes people to question his judgment. Finally, Vince would return and tell HHH that he is doing a bad job at his job, and he thinks it's best for the WWE that Vince return as Chairman of the Board. Of course, HHH wouldn't give it up without a fight.

HHH would continually challenge Vince (but we all know doctors have told him to stay out of the ring), so Vince would finally accept the challenge, but he isn't going to be the one fighting. He will find someone that will fight on his behalf.

HHH is a cocky guy, so he will give the attitude that no one can beat him no matter who it is.

And that is when Vince will, for one time only, bring in his worst enemy of all time. Stone Cold will show up on Raw and demolish HHH, which sets up another match with so much more on the line than any CM Punk-HHH match would have.

This would bring back so much history between these three that the potential twists in the storyline leading up to WrestleMania could be limitless.
