By signing a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, Carson Palmer made aย commitmentย and Mike Brown made it clear in his Tuesday press conference that Palmer needs to follow through on his commitment.ย

As much as Mike Brown emphasized on how Carson Palmer give them his word and a made a commitment, in Brown's eyes, Palmer is simply giving up.

Many will speculate that Palmer is not pleased with the direction that the Bengals franchise is headed in and has had enough with the team's lack of talent that is surrounding him.ย

Here is a quote from Mike Brown's Tuesday press conference:

"

โ€œI honestly like Carson Palmer...He was a splendid player for us. Heโ€™s a good person. I wish him well. And he is retired. That is his choice...Iโ€™m not expecting him to be back.โ€

"

It is 100 percent clear that Brown labels Palmer as retired, which means you simply cannot trade a retired player.ย

As of right now, Carson Palmer is the obvious best quarterback on Cincinnati's roster, so why should Mike Brown want to trade away a player like that?

Palmer was once considered an elite player in the NFL and certainly has the talent to do so, you simply do not trade away players with that potential and track-record. ย

I'm not sure if you all remember, but back in 2008 Chad Ochocinco requested to be traded out of Cincinnatโ€”and obviously owner Mike Brown did not give in.

So why should Brown give into Carson Palmer's request? He might as well stay consistent.ย
