WWE News: Mick Foley Is Perfect Accomplice to CM Punk's Revolution
If you have been living under a rock for the last few weeks or you’re too jaded about wrestling to care anymore, you missed one of the greatest periods in wrestling history.
CM Punk has turned the business on its ear with the way he approaches the sport, and it hearkens back to the days of the original ECW.
It was a time where wrestlers cared about the product and gave their heart and soul for every match. ECW was also about not conforming to mainstream expectations, but doing what was best for the audience, and more importantly, the product itself.

Sports Stars to be on Wheel of Fortune 🤩
Now there is word that a former ECW and WWE legend may be getting himself back in with the WWE. Mick Foley was the quintessential wrestler that marched to the beat of his own drum and has pulled off promos just as wicked as Punk’s.
While the relationship between Foley and the WWE are still unclear, The Lords of Pain are reporting:
"Two fans in attendance at last night's WWE SmackDown tapings in Philadelphia, PA at the Wells Fargo Center reported seeing Mick Foley leave the arena after the show. We don't have it confirmed yet but the tapings would have only been a few hours drive from Foley's home. Foley was asked by a fan on Twitter earlier this week if he would be returning to WWE soon. Foley said yes, but just as a fan. Foley added that he is taking his kids to a WWE show this summer.
"
CM Punk has all the momentum in the world, and having a partner in crime would be the perfect way to set the element of a division of power in the company. Imagine John Cena and Triple H feuding with CM Punk and Mick Foley, not with the older stars wrestling, but verbally jousting.
Foley has been through the ringer with the WWE and he knows what works and what doesn’t, and his irreverence on the mic is what people loved him for.
With Punk preaching about a new way to do things and with wrestling commanding more respect than the WWE hierarchy, the men who said the same things before him will be vindicated.
One of those men is Mick Foley, and I’m sure there is plenty Foley would have to say in one of his shoot promos about the way WWE was run before.
Imagine Foley taking the role Eric Bischoff played with the NWO in WCW and helping to create the new stable of former Ring of Honor stars.
It would be the new four horsemen—CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and the Kings of Wrestling, Chris Hero and Castagnoli—taking the role of dominant force in WWE with the help of Mr. Mick Foley making things a nightmare for their opponents.
This would be a great angle that could spawn so many feuds and storylines that it would last for years. We can only hope the IWC makes a big enough impression to push for this move now that the WWE is listening.
