WWE News: TNA Wrestling Failing over Lack of Respect for Veteran Stars

Jun 7, 2018

With the WWE putting out a subpar product over the last few years, it was the perfect opportunity for a competitor like TNA Impact wrestling to take the momentum that WWE was leaving on the table.

As with most of the other things the organization tries to accomplish, the attempt to take the reins of the wrestling world were misguided and wrong. The lack of guidance from the people who run the organization was a problem, but the extent of the problem wasn’t abundantly clear.

With young stars departing from TNA at an alarming rate, the truth about the lack of any semblance of a support system has come to the public’s eye.

While he was never afraid to ask another star to critique his matches, Rob Van Dam told the Miami Herald:

I'm open to it. Most of the guys, I don't know if they don't feel welcome to ask me or any of the other veterans or what. That is probably an issue that we have is the young guys should ask some of the older guys. They should be saying, 'Hey, watch my match. Let me know what I can improve on.' That never happens enough. Some of the young guys who are or were there, I don't want to mention any names. There were two young guys who just left and looked like they were out of high school. The whole time they were there, they never introduced themselves or shook my hand. Things are way different than they used to be.

Not only do I think this is the problem with TNA Impact Wrestling, but it perpetuates the whole youth movement in the world. A vast majority of younger people don’t appreciate the idea of a hard day’s work, and the idea of striving to get better at all costs is something that is missing.

Wrestling is a fluid sport that is always changing to suit the times and styles of the company and competitors, and for a young star to get better, they have to try to reach out for advice.

If these stars aren’t making their own way to try to get better, the TNA management needs to be forcing their hands. The problem is Hulk Hogan and everyone else is too busy stroking his ego for anyone to care about the brand and its future.

Before you know it, TNA will go the way of WCW.
