WWE: 8 Reasons Triple H Can Lead the Company to Success
The wrestling world has been turned upside down this past week with the on-air replacement of Vince McMahon as WWE Chairman.
Vince was "relieved of his duties" by the man appointed to replace him, his son-in-law, Triple H.
This was a move that Vince has wanted to take for some time now by removing himself as a television character but some have said that it meant more than that.
There have been rumors that Vince has wanted to step down for some time now and the increased backstage role given to Triple H mean that now may be his time to lead the company forward into the future.
This has led to a largely positive reaction from the WWE fans, who are excited to see what Triple H can bring to the company and whether he can restore its mainstream popularity.
Here are eight reasons I believe Triple H can make the WWE extremely successful once again.Ā
Attitude Era Recognition
1 of 8Triple H was one of the biggest stars of the Attitude Era and participated in legendary feuds with Austin, the Rock, Undertaker and Mick Foley.
Casual wrestling fans that have not tuned in since the product became PG and watered down might turn back to the WWE at the news of Triple H's new status.
It is a definitely a news-worthy development in the wrestling world and could alert fans to the controversial changes being made in the company right now.
X Pac and Kevin Nash
2 of 8Two of Triple H's best friends and fellow Kliq members, Kevin Nash and Sean Waltman, have recently resurfaced on the WWE radar.
Nash returned at the Royal Rumble and has since been given a backstage role with the creative department.
Waltman, who competed in the WWE as X-Pac and the 123 Kid, made an appearance at Shawn Michaels' Hall of Fame induction and there have been rumors of a full-time return to the company.
If Triple H were to recruit the services of his old partners in on-air roles or in creative positions, then many exciting possibilities could ensue.
Nash and Waltman are no strangers to controversy and both played a significant part in the "Attitude Era", albeit in different companies.
They also know what makes a compelling storyline and would be prepared to take more risks with regards to content.
The WWE does need an edgier product and Nash and Waltman could help to usher in a new era of controversy.Ā
No Favoritism Shown to Big Men
3 of 8Triple H does not have the same preconceptions of what a main event star should look as his father-in-law, Vince McMahon.
Vince always favored the big men with bodybuilder looks and ironically Triple H's career benefited from this train of thought.
But the "Game" will not be reluctant to push the smaller and more talented workers which means that the quality of main event matches in the WWE will rise.
It may have been that Triple H called for Daniel Bryan's recent Money in the Bank victory.
In Tune with the Fans
4 of 8Triple H has been an active wrestler with the company for almost two decades and this gives him an insight into what the fans are thinking and feeling.
This should help him to gauge which storylines to develop and which wrestlers to push in order to achieve the maximum fan reaction.
Breath of Fresh Air
5 of 8Vince McMahon has been WWE Chairman for decades and sometimes a major change is needed to breathe new life into an organization.
Triple H will want to do things his way and this will mean changing the traditional order of business.
Things will be done differently and the sometimes monotonous WWE programming will be shaken up.
Triple H's new regime should be a breath of fresh air for WWE fans all around the world.
Eye for Talent
6 of 8While Triple H's first two signings to the company, Sin Cara and Kharma, did not turn out the way he wanted them to, there is no denying that they were both talented individuals.
Triple H also hand-picked Randy Orton and Batista to join the Evolution stable because he thought that they were the future of the company.
Orton and Batista were both elevated to main event status off the back of their time in Evolution and have become two of the biggest stars of the modern era.
But if Triple H had not spotted their talent, they might never have climbed above the mid card.
It was also Triple H that called for major pushes to be given, more recently, to Sheamus and Wade Barrett.
Respected Locker Room Leader
7 of 8Triple H has always prided himself on his reputation as someone that the younger talent can go to for advice.
His legendary status within the wrestling business mean that he will have the instant respect of the locker room.
The talent will want to work for him and they will want to prove to him that they can cut it with the best.
It is a clean slate for the wrestlers and this should spark a competitive but productive working environment in the company that should deliver results.
CM Punk
8 of 8CM Punk demonstrated his lack of respect for Triple H with comments made about the "doofus son-in-law" during his controversial worked shoot promo.
But Punk is also a wrestling fan and he must know that a feud with the "Game" would capture the attention of wrestling fans all around the globe.
Punk could play the part of the rebel and the anti-hero in much the same way as Stone Cold Steve Austin and a feud with Triple H would lead to comparisons with the legendary McMahon-Austin feud.
However Punk and Triple H could actually back up their feud with great matches as the new chairman is one of the greatest of all time.
It is still unclear as to whether Punk has or will resign with the WWE but his invasion of the Comic-Con press conference held by Triple H make it apparent that his departure is a work.
I believe that CM Punk has come to an agreement with the WWE and his new role will convince him stay.
People have talked about a potential cross-promotion with ROH with Punk as the figurehead and there would be no better way for Triple H to make headlines in his inaugural months as on-air Chairman.
