Manchester United Rumors: Is Alex Ferguson Flipping His View of Wesley Sneijder?

0 of 3

Wesley Sneijder was reportedly on the verge of joining Manchester United last Thursday.

The news lately is sounding of a different tune. Sir Alex Ferguson said, “Forget it, we are looking at some things but I am not so sure Sneijder will be easy to get.”

Do the Red Devils need Wesley Sneijder, no. If they get Sneijder he could be a game changer.

He brings creativity, hard work ethic, and is a leader on the pitch.

The truth is Sneijder is a world class talent but here are 3 reasons why they do not need to get him during this summers transfer window.

Depth at Midfield

Manchester United is the reigning champion of the Premier League and rightly so.

They have depth at every position and it ranges from proven world class players to young prospects that would be stars at any other club.

On the wings there is the talent of Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia who will use their speed to stretch defenses and score goals and send in great service to the strikers.

In the middle of the pitch there is Darren Fletcher, Ryan Giggs, Ji Sung Park, Anderson, and Michael Carrick.

The rotation of those center midfielders has been very successful last season and seasons before it.

The team took their record 19th title last season and it is not mind boggling when the Metro reported, “Ferguson claims he would be content to face his title rivals with the current group of players”.

Sir Alex and His Staff’s Scouting Ability

Sir Alex Ferguson and his staff are brilliant scouts.

They have discovered so many players and ushered them into stardom the list alone could be a great article.

For now let’s just talk about the big one from last season that showcased Ferguson and his staffs talent.

They discovered the Mexican striker Javier Hernandez who is better known as Chicharito.

Chicharito broke in United’s started 11 and helped them win the title. He even did so well that he got the nod to start in the Champions League final.

Ferguson could go out and find the next Wesley Sneijder for more of a bargain price and not have to spend their entire rest of their transfer budget on one player.

There Are Viable Alternatives

Away from scouting players and finding the next big thing, there is a lot of talent out there that Manchester United has been linked with.

An option that has been thrown around in the gossip columns is Sebastian Schweinsteiger.

The German midfield general would be a great option for the Red Devils.

Brazilian midfielder Ganso is another option who many have talked about, and it could be another player that could fit perfectly at Old Trafford.

Ganso is a Brazilian midfielder with more potential than anyone would know what to do with. Sir Alex Ferguson could really usher him into stardom if given the chance.

Ferguson will be able to get the player he sees fit, and one of these two may just be what he needs to turn away from a deal for Sneijder.
