College Football Recruiting: Top-150 RB Jovon Robinson Commits to Auburn
The No. 132 overall prospect and No. 12 running back according to Rivals.com,Ā Jovon RobinsonĀ (Memphis, Tenn.), could not do anything else but breathe a sigh of relief when he ended his recruitment on Saturday byĀ committing to Auburn.
"It's over," Robinson told Jeffrey Lee ofĀ AuburnSports.com. "My recruitment is over. I'm going to Auburn. It feels great. It's the greatest feeling in the world."
The Wooddale High School 4-star running back is not second guessing his decision either.
"I know that I am confident in my decision," said Robinson. "I have been around Auburn long enough to see what they are trying to accomplish, and I think I will be a good asset in what they are trying to do, and I want to be on board."
The 6'1" and 216-pound running back chose the Tigers over Alabama, Memphis, Mississippi State and Miami (FL). Robinson said the family atmosphere at Auburn was a major factor when he figured out he was ready to commit.
"There's just something about Auburn that I love," Robinson said. "It is a very tightly-knit family. It's more than just football at Auburn. I have seen it and I have felt it and I want to be a part of it."
The Tigers now have 11 commitments for their 2012 recruiting class and nine of them are rated 4-stars by Rivals.com.Ā
Robinson is excited to team up with fellow 2012 commit, 4-star running backĀ T.J. YeldonĀ (Daphne, AL), to become one of the most lethal one-two punch in the SEC.Ā
"It's scary how good we compliment each other," Robinson said about the nation's No. 51 overall prospect and No. 5 running back. "I watched his highlight tape on Rivals and he did this juke move on this player and I was like, 'Wow...this is the guy I'm going to be in the backfield with?' It puts a smile on my face that neither one of us will have to carry the load. We can compliment each other and just have fun."
The Tigers have also locked down the nation's No. 3 pro-style quarterback,Ā Zeke PikeĀ (Edgewood, KY), to hand the ball off to the potential dynamic duo and help Auburn's offense remain in championship form for years to come.Ā
