Are Money in the Bank Winners Daniel Bryan, Alberto Del Rio Destined to Fail?

“The ‘Money in the Bank’ briefcase is as good as gold”

WWE fans have heard Michael Cole repeat these sentiments many times in the past few weeks leading up to Money in the Bank.

What Cole is referring to of course is that every Money in the Bank winner has successfully converted their title shot into a Championship (except Mr. Kennedy).

So in a time when WWE creative seems to be mixing things up and causing fans to expect the unexpected, are we due to see a MITB winner cash in the briefcase and come up empty handed?

The 2011 Money in the Bank prizes went Alberto Del Rio and Daniel Bryan. Who, if either, is more likely to blow their golden opportunity?

Both are skilled, exciting up-and-comers, but is either one groomed to become the next face of the WWE?

For Del Rio it is especially difficult to speculate because the fate of the WWE Championship is entirely unclear. Who would the Mexican aristocrat even cash in on if CM Punk has really taken the belt with no plans to return?  

Daniel Bryan is another interesting case. The IWC seems him as credible enough to be champion and fans of his previous work in ROH know he has the skills, but the WWE creative team and the IWC rarely see eye to eye.

Either way it will be very interesting to watch both Raw and Smackdown to see how these stories pan out, and it is great to have a couple of fresh faces in the championship hunt.
