WWE Money in the Bank 2011: Predictions from a BR Newbie with Some New Ideas

1 of 9

We all know that MITB is tonight.  No way you would be reading this if you didn't know that.

It's about three hours before the event and I'm going to get some of my last minute thoughts out there.

No need for a big introduction, other than hopefully you'll read at least one thing here that you haven't seen or thought about before!

Divas Champion Kelly Kelly vs. Brie Bella

2 of 9

    What I'd like to see:

A match with different Divas, but that's not going to happen.  There are two things that I wouldn't mind seeing with this scenario and it's all after the match.  Kelly wins clean and Beth Phoenix comes out to completely destroy Kelly.

OR Brie wins dirty and a returning Layla comes out to complain to the ref about what happened (likely Twin Magic, ugh).

This is somewhat possible given that Layla posted last night on her Twitter account that her return would be coming soon.  If that means tonight, I doubt it, but remember, this is what I'd like to see.

What I'd REALLY like to see:

Kharma, but not worth ruining the pregnancy over.

    What will happen:

Kelly wins in a substandard match and nothing eventful happens afterwards.

WWE Tag Team Champions Nexus vs. the Usos

3 of 9

    What I'd like to see:

This match at all.  The Usos beat Nexus on Superstars and clearly deserve a title match.  Pretty much repeat the match that aired on Thursday (not many people saw it anyway) and give the Usos the belts.

What I'd REALLY like to see:

Tag team gauntlet for the belts with Usos, Nexus, Santino Marella and Vladimir Koslov, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, and Jinder Mahal and Great Khali.  Still give the belts to the Usos, but give Mahal his first PPV match and Ryder some air time at all.

    What will happen:

See the first scenario.  Mark my words: this match is going to happen tonight.

Raw Money in the Bank

4 of 9

    What I'd like to see:

Evan Bourne walks away with the briefcase to shock the entire WWE Universe.  How many people are seriously calling for him?  Sure, maybe he doesn't totally deserve it, but did Swagger?

What I'd REALLY like to see:

John Morrison comes back to push R-Truth off the ladder just as he looks like he'll get the briefcase.  John shrugs, climbs the ladder, and wins the briefcase to become the first person not officially in the match to win the case.

    What will happen:

I see I lot of people saying that it's between Alberto Del Rio and Kofi Kingston. I would throw The Miz and Alex Riley in that mix too, but my pick is still Kofi Kingston.

Mark Henry vs. Big Show

5 of 9

    What I'd like to see:

Big Show lose two PPVs in a row.  Mark Henry will look dominant here to further his monster heel persona.  Although I did like that they added more depth to his character to add some sympathy on Smackdown...

What I'd REALLY like to see:

A huge spot that outdoes anything we saw on free TV.  I want Creative to completely shock me Attitude Era style.

    What will happen:

I predicted Show winning by DQ earlier, but I think it's more likely that we see a double count out followed by a big move spot-fest

Smackdown Money in the Bank

6 of 9

    What I'd like to see:

Justin Gabriel does what I had Evan do two slides ago: pull off the shocking win.  Again, doubt that we'll see that, but I think that...

What I'd REALLY like to see:

is more possible.  Skip Sheffield returns to help Wade Barrett win the briefcase.  After a long, hard-fought battle, a fresh Sheffield comes out to give Barrett the boost he needs to get what many of the IWC think he deserves.  He's barely won anything clean in his entire WWE career though and I don't expect him to change that right now.

    What will happen:

Cody Rhodes (the other guy most people are calling for, maybe behind Sheamus) wins the briefcase with some help from Ted DiBiase.

World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. Christian

7 of 9

    What I'd like to see:

Christian has a complete meltdown after winning the title just to lose it again to the Smackdown MITB winner and even less time than his last reign.  Even though I'm a little sick of his current persona since it feels repetitive to me, this could take him to a new, darker place that could add more interest.

What I'd REALLY like to see:

The match end cleanly.  Regardless of who wins.

    What will happen:

Christian wins the title by DQ.  It's hard to say that the contract stipulation is there for no reason, so I think it'll be an awful finish where Christian shoves Orton into the ref and the ref thinks that Orton did it himself, drawing the DQ.

WWE Champion John Cena vs. CM Punk

8 of 9

    What I'd like to see:

John Cena wins with help from Vince.  Cena doesn't like winning that way and offers a rematch to Punk, which keeps Punk around longer and adds some time to the contract negotiations.  Additionally, a Cena-McMahon feud is sparked, which keeps Cena face and hopefully adds more depth to his character.

What I'd REALLY like to see:

CM Punk wins cleanly.  Cena gets"fired" for time off to heal some injuries.  Colt Cabana and Luke Gallows come out to celebrate with Punk.  No MITB cash in.  The next night on Raw during a farewell speech, the SMACKDOWN winner comes out to steal the WWE title duing his cash in and take it to the Blue Brand, generating more interest and ratings for the B Show.

    What will happen:

Who the hell really knows?  I think that we will see Punk win clean and then Alberto Del Rio come out accompanied by Vince to say that the WWE title match that he earned two weeks ago will happen right now and ADR will walk out of MITB as the champion.

Conclusion

9 of 9

I'm really looking forward to tonight (now in 2 hours).  If even one of my wild hopes comes true, I'll be beyond satisfied, but even if the real predictions happen, this could be a PPV to remember.

Hope everyone enjoys tonight regardless of the outcomes and that WWE gets something right!
