WWE: My Monday Night Raw 7/11

Nate ScacciaJun 1, 2018

Hello Bleachers, and welcome to another edition of My Monday Night Raw!

As always, I will recap last weeks events before we go any further.

My Raw MITB field has been set and finalized. Here are the participants: R-Truth, Drew McIntyre, Alex Riley, Kofi Kingston, Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, Evan Bourne and Zack Ryder.

After John Cena came out to celebrate July 4th with the fans, The Empire Alliance came out to challenge Cena. Before anything could happen the Raw GM stated that Cena would take on the Empire Alliance in the main event in a Gauntlet Match.

In the main event, John Cena first took on Drew McIntyre. Cena and McIntyre battled back and forth until Cena hit an Attitude Adjustment to eliminate McIntyre.

Next out was Sheamus. Cena and Sheamus had a pay-per-view-caliber match before Cena hit two AA's for the victory.

Out next was William Regal. Cena seemed to be expecting Wade Barrett, but instead Regal came down ready to brawl.

Regal controlled Cena until Cena hit one move and locked in the STFU. Regal was stuck in the middle of the ring. Just before he tapped out, Wade Barrett ran down to the ring. Once Regal tapped, Barrett ran into the ring and hit the Wasteland on Cena.

Barrett pinned Cena and picked up the victory for The Empire Alliance. After the Raw GM sent Cena out of the ring, he ran into CM Punk backstage. Punk delivered a swift kick to Cena's head and knocked him out. Punk vowed that at Money in the Bank, he will take Cena's title.

Now let's see what I have in store for this edition of My Monday Night Raw!

Opening Segment

1 of 8

CM Punk starts off the show tonight. He comes down to the ring and grabs a mic.

Punk says that MITB is an important reason as to why he is standing here today. In the MITB match any superstar can instantly gain a WWE Championship match of his choosing.

Punk says that he cashed in the MITB twice to become Champion. This year he says he doesn't need a briefcase because he will defeat Cena for the WWE Championship in Chicago. Punk says that possibly after he wins the Championship, the MITB winner may cash in the contract on him.

Punk says that "this is a possibility, but one thing that is certain is that John Cena will not leave Chicago as the WWE Champion!"

Alberto Del Rio makes his entrance and joins Punk in the ring. Del Rio says that Punk has seemingly forgotten about him. Del Rio says that he agrees with Punk that Cena will not be leaving MITB with the WWE Championship, but that is because it will be around Del Rio's waist, not Punk's.

Punk and Del Rio argue until Cena comes out on the ramp. Cena says that he doesn't care who thinks they will be leaving MITB the WWE Champion. He says he doesn't care who wins the MITB. He says that the only thing he cares about is leaving Chicago with the WWE Championship.

This statement brings out Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler says that he hopes Cena wins his match so that he can cash in his MITB Briefcase on him. Cena tells Ziggler that he must of taken a wrong turn backstage because only the top guys in the company come out and open the show. Ziggler gets mad but, as usual, the Raw GM chimes in before anything can happen.

The GM says that Punk, Del Rio and Cena need to be aware that if any one of them wins the WWE Championship, there is a good chance that whoever wins the MITB will cash in the briefcase on them. The GM says that to show how dangerous the MITB participants can be, Punk, Del Rio and Cena will all go one-on-one with a MITB participant tonight.

The GM makes three matches for the show. "Del Rio, you will go one-on-one with Alex Riley! CM Punk, you will go toe-to-toe with Kofi Kingston! And you, John Cena, will go one on one with...Dolph Ziggler!"

Everyone starts to argue over who will win the matches tonight as well as who will win at MITB. We fade to commercial with all the men yelling at each other.

Match 1: Zack Ryder vs. Drew McIntyre

2 of 8

As soon as we come back from commercial, Drew McInyre's music hits and he makes his entrance. he gets good heat and waits for his opponent.

Zack Ryder makes his entrance to a nice reaction and makes for the ring. A video from WWE Superstars last week shows Ryder pinning McIntyre for the victory. Ryder says that this is going to happen again tonight, but McIntyre has other plans as the match begins.

McIntyre goes for a clothesline, but Ryder dodges it and hits a quick right hand. McIntyre steps back and delivers a big right hand of his own, knocking Ryder to the mat. McIntyre stomps on Ryder's legs and arms before dragging him over to the ring post.

McIntyre positions Ryder so that his arm is hanging down by the ring post. McIntyre goes to the outside and connects with a boot to Ryder's arm which bounces off of the ring post. Ryder cries out in pain as McIntyre positions him for his signature Leg Lock on the ring post.

McIntyre locks in the move and holds it in until the referee gets to a count of four and a half. McIntyre cracks a sinister smile and goes back in the ring. McIntyre picks up Ryder and goes for the Future Shock but Ryder counters it into another roll-up.

The referee counts to a very close two count before McIntyre kicks out. Ryder gets up but he runs right into McIntyre's boot. Ryder is knocked to the ground and McIntyre grabs him and hits the Future Shock for the victory.

McIntyre grabs a mic and says that at MITB nobody can stop him from winning the briefcase. The Big Show's music goes off and he comes out on the ramp. He tells McIntyre that he needs to shut his mouth because there is nothing he can do to stop the largest athlete in the world from winning on Sunday.

McIntyre looks concerned as we head to another commercial.

Match 2: Alberto Del Rio vs. Alex Riley

3 of 8

Del Rio is out first to nice heat. He gets in the ring and waits for his opponent.

Alex Riley comes out to his usual good reaction.

Del Rio and Riley lock up to start off the bout. Riley backs Del Rio into the corner but backs out of the corner. Del Rio slaps Riley in the face and hits a neckbreaker. Del Rio then begins to work on Riley's arm. He stomps on it and locks in an armbar. Riley fights out of it and hits a clothesline. Riley follows that up with a shoulder block and a spinebuster.

Riley waits for Del Rio to get back on his feet and goes for a big boot. Del Rio sidesteps Riley and hits a backbreaker. Del Rio locks in another arm submission, and Riley fights out of it. Riley goes for another spinebuster but Del Rio counters into a suplex.

Del Rio signals for his finishing armbar and goes to lock it in. Alex Riley counters it and hits his signature TKO move and goes for the pin. Del Rio kicks out after a close two-count. Riley picks up Del Rio and goes for the Edgecution (not sure what the WWE is calling it now).

Riley goes for the move, but Del Rio counters and locks in his finishing cross armbreaker. Riley manages to grab the ropes. The referee counts to five but Del Rio doesn't break the hold. The referee calls for the bell and Riley wins the match. Del Rio shows little care, for he still has the hold locked in. After about 20 seconds Del Rio breaks it. Del Rio laughs and taunts Riley and the fans.

We head backstage.

Vickie slaps Cena in the face, and Cena goes to grab her. Just then Ziggler comes in from behind and hits the Zig Zag for the victory. Ziggler and Vickie run to the back and celebrate their victory. Cena is lying in the ring for two weeks in a row when Mr. McMahon comes up on the Titantron.

The Rock comes on the screen and wants to know why John Cena has been losing lately. He says that Cena has never lost this many times in a long time. Rock says that maybe Cena should stop trying to be like The Rock and just be like John Cena.

Cena grabs a mic and tells The Rock that he comes out here every week to perform for these fans. The Rock tells him that most of the fans 'boo your ass out of the building". He says that Cena "only appeals to the little tykes, where as The Rick appeals to people off all sizes, shapes and colors."
