Everyone thinks Ortiz is a southpaw, but actually, he is a natural right-hander. His defense is strong and he packs so much power while fighting on his left hand. Still, nobody really notices it, and most of the time, no one really cares. It has been like that for most of his careerāhe has been underestimated and unnoticed, even after winning his WBC welterweight title against Andre Berto. It was a controversial win, as Berto accusing him of taking performance-enhancing drugs. Victor nonetheless strived at the thought of winning.
