Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz Tickets Go on Sale July 8

The return of boxing's biggest American undefeated star Floyd Mayweather Jr. happens on September 17, when he will challenge WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz. Fight tickets will go on sale Friday, July 8 at 10 AM P/T.

Mayweather/Ortiz will take place at the MGM Grand on Saturday September 17 at the MGM Grand, and can only be seen live on HBO PPV.

According to a press release from Golden Boy Promotions, the Mayweather/Ortiz fight is expected to "produce meteoric box office numbers".

Tickets priced at $1,250, $1,000, $600, $300 and $150—not including applicable service charges—are limited to ten (10) per person, and $150 tickets are limited to two (2) per person with a total ticket limit of ten (10) per person. • On Floyd Mayweather's birthday this year (February 24, 2011), the space shuttle Discovery made its final launch into space.
• Victor Ortiz was born on the 29th anniversary of the first successful American satellite launch into space.
• The first of the outer solar system asteroids known as Centaurs (minor planets that behave with characteristics of both asteroids and comets) were discovered in 1977—the same year Mayweather was born.
• The first supernova (the explosion of a star) in over three centuries was seen by the naked eye in 1987 - the same year Ortiz was born.
