Women's World Cup TV Schedule Previews Upcoming Matches for United States

The United States are locked in battle with Sweden, currently trailing 2-0 early in the second half.  The two teams are playing for first place in Group C and the chance to play Australia in the quarterfinals instead of the Brazilian squad.

With the Americans trailing, they are on pace to meet Brazil earlier than they would have liked. If the United States finishes second in the group, they will play Brazil on Sunday morning at 9:30AM live on ESPN.

There is no doubt the Americans are going to be highly upset with this result if they are unable to comeback against Sweden, and they will have a difficult task ahead of them in order to reach the finals.

The Americans were likely caught looking ahead here and probably thought they could coast through this game like they did the previous two matches. They likely had their sights on a semifinal match with Germany.

The good news for the United States is that they will not have to worry about the Germans unless they can defeat Brazil and win another game to advance to the finals.

However, the Americans will be entering a match against the Brazilians lacking confidence, facing one of the hottest teams in the tournament. Brazil has been playing extremely well as of late and will be looking to continue their success and make another run to the finals.

The United States have certainly had their chances to score against Sweden but have been unable to convert. They will need to capitalize on those chances against Brazil if they are going to have any chance of knocking them out.
