Arsenal FC Should Sell Unhappy Players
Everybody knew it was going to be an important summer for Arsenal Football Club. Everybody passed on rumours after rumours about players Arsene Wenger should sign to make the team better. But nobody thought of the prospect of Arsenal having to sell key players in one transfer window.
Nigel Winterburn called it a disaster. The writing was on the wall from the start of the transfer market. All the big clubs are trying to catch-up to the brilliance of Alex Ferguson. The Scot has improved his squad with the acquisitions of David DeGea (GK), Ashley Young (MID) and Phil Jones (DEF); three positions that Arsene Wenger has yet to fill and desperately need to make a quick move in the forthcoming days.
The transfer saga involving Barcelona and Cesc Fabregas looks to be coming to an end. A deal between £35 to £40 million will snap up the player. Arsenal have revealed they will grant the player his wish.
After yet another disappointing season, Gunners fans want to see more from the players. More focus, more ruthlessness, more Passion and a winning mentality. None of these can be achieved if players are not happy and not committed to the club. Keeping players who want to be elsewhere is going backwards for the club.
Arsene Wenger has to prove himself now and rebuild the Arsenal team. As we understand, Clichy is out to Manchester City for £7 million. Clichy can be replaced by Leighton Baines. Fabregas is going to Barcelona. The club will have to find a suitable replacement, although I have a feeling that Wilshere and Ramsey can really dominate that midfield area next season. Diaby and Rosicky must step-up their performances.
On a brighter note, Wenger looks like he will sign Gervinho by next week and talks with Bolton's Gary Cahill are under way. Those would be welcomed addition to the club. Bendtner and Denilson are out in search of regular first-team football.
Arsene Wenger must rebuild the Arsenal creativity in midfield and booster the defence if all the rumours turn out to be true. Have faith in the manager and see what next season brings for the club before judgement is made.
