It is never too early to talk about one of the biggest draws in WWE history. There is only one man who could perform once, maybe twice a year and still be regarded as one of the best in the business. This man is The Undertaker.
Undertaker is expected to retire after this year's WrestleMania. If he wins, he will finish with an undefeated 20-0 record. Since it will be Undertaker's last match and storyline, the WWE will surely try to hit a home run in terms of its design and setup.
Here are 10 potential story lines giving The Undertaker a good way to close out his career. A few of these are repeats, while others are completely new.
Triple H and The Undertaker put on a good match at this past WrestleMania. This would be the easiest storyline to set up. Triple H wants revenge and thinks he can beat the Undertaker.
That is all the WWE would need to do to set up this rematch. If it did happen again, I would like to see Triple H and Undertaker go toe-to-toe in a Hell in a Cell match.
Perhaps two of Undertaker's best matches came with Shawn Michaels. At WrestleManias 25 and 26, Undertaker and Shawn Michaels put on matches that will be remembered forever. So why not give them one more chance in the spotlight?
Or, perhaps set up a Triple Threat match. Undertaker vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels?
It has been said that Undertaker would be better off fighting against someone he is familiar with in his last match. Kane fits this bill extremely well.
At WrestleMania, Undertaker and Kane could go one-on-one in an inferno match, a buried alive match, or even a Hell in a Cell match. Throw Paul Bearer in and you have a great main event.
This match would make for one hell of a goodbye. Jericho can perform with anyone, and seeing Undertaker face off with Jericho in the biggest event of the year would be amazing.
Jericho would probably take a similar approach to Shawn Michaels. He wants the streak and he is coming to get it.
Undertaker is said to be high up on Barrett. This was rumored to be a possibility last year, and with Barrett having no major storylines, I can see this one happening.
So the man with the "destiny" decides it is his "destiny" to go after the streak, but you already knew that. Del Rio is in the same boat as Barrett. He has nothing going on and could easily be put in a main event program with the Undertaker.
If CM Punk does stay with the WWE, I could see this feud happening. "The Undertaker doesn't even wrestle and he gets more respect and is talked about more than I am." This could work pretty well, but we will have to wait and see how far this current Punk angle goes.
These two have some history together, and I wouldn't mind seeing this rivalry brought back for one last match. With Orton being the face of SmackDown and Undertaker involved with SmackDown as well, this could easily happen.
SmackDown is Orton's show, but the ring is Undertaker's yard. Who would win?
Cena has said that he would like to be the one to end Undertaker's streak. I'm not really sure how this one would pan out, but with "Super Cena" in the ring against the Undertaker, the fans would really give him some heat.
If Vince wants to turn Cena into a heel, now would be the perfect time to do it. Imagine how much heat Cena would get if he beat the Undertaker at WrestleMania.
The thought of Cena ending the streak actually sickens me a little.
This last possibility seems to crop up every time Undertaker's opponents are mentioned.
Will it be Brock Lesnar?
What about Sting?
Hell, maybe even Ultimate Warrior!
Who knows who the rumored guy will be this year. If the WWE does bring in a one-time guy for the Undertaker, then Taker would clearly stay undefeated.
Regardless of who Undertaker feuds with, it will definitely be exciting. Will the streak stay intact? Who will he face?
