This week’s rumour mill is in full swing as we hit the middle of the week, with all the Premier League big players making today’s headlines in the British tabloids and across the web.

The most talked about man in the football world at the moment is definitely the Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez. Depending on what you read, the Udinese midfielder is going to end up on either side of Manchester this summer.

Today’s reports suggest that Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United have stolen a march on Sanchez and could swipe the winger from under the noses of both City and Barcelona.

The exciting forward is definitely leaving Udinese for pastures new, with Champions League football a guarantee.

It seemed as though City were firm favourites for the player, but now they have fierce competition from their bitter rivals.

Another player that Roberto Mancini may have missed out on is Argentine striker Sergio Aguero. The City and Chelsea target could be on his way to Italy with Juventus favourites to sign him.

But if you listen to reports, City could make a bid for Champions League and World Cup winner David Villa. They could look to off-load Villa as they try and raise sufficient funds to make a bid for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

A possible replacement for Fabregas or Samir Nasri could be Brazilian midfielder Willian. After winning the Ukrainian league with Shakhtar Donetsk, rumours continue to persist that either or both will leave the Emirates this summer.

Staying in London, Chelsea will have to pay big money if they are to land Javier Pastore. Although, his club Palermo currently wants around £44million for the talented playmaker.

Continuing today’s South American trend, it looks like Tottenham will finally get there man, when they look to tie up a £12million deal of Brazilian cap Leandro Damiao. The Internacional striker is set for European shores after impressing in last years Copa Libertadores.

Pulling away from the top four, it looks like Newcastle skipper Kevin Nolan is set to reunite with Sam Allardyce and sign for West Ham United, dropping a division in the process.

A striker could be going in the opposite direction, with Senegalese hot-shot Demba Ba courting interest from Newcastle. But Sunderland and Everton are also keen.

Ba, could be a replacement for Asamoah Gyan at the Stadium of Light after it was reported that the club had alerted the Premier League big boys of his availability via email.

This though, seems to be very unlikely after Gyan was so impressive in his debut season and with the loss of Jordan Henderson, a sale would show a lack of ambition by the Mackems.
