Why Isn't Dennis Rodman in the NBA Hall of Fame?

Could someone please shed light on something for me? Why is Dennis Rodman not in the NBA Hall of Fame? I mean, he is one of the best who ever played the game. But yet "the Worm" is not given his fair shake.

Now, I am not defending him for some of the off-court incidents, like wearing a wedding dress, partying too much, going out with Madonna and Carmen Electra, or anything like that. I am defending what he did on the court.

People say he was a bad man, but the only in-game incident he ever caused were head-butting a ref, which the ref himself says was not as bad as it looked...and kicking a cameraman, but that was it.

And in fouls and technicals, he is 83rd in NBA history, behind many of those enshrined in Springfield. So, really, you can't blame what he did on the court for him being out of the Hall of Fame, not in the slightest bit.

We all know Rodman from the Pistons in the late '80s and early '90s—he was an NBA champion there and won two consecutive Defensive Player of the Year awards with "the Bad Boys."

In those seasons, he covered the best player on the other teams they played; without Rodman, the Pistons would not be champions, in my opinion. Then you had San Antonio, which was not a good place for him to be; although a country man, Texas was not right for Rodman.

Then he went to the Chicago Bulls, where he played extremely well, working with the greats like Scottie Pippen and His Airness himself, Micheal Jordan, something not many can say they did. And, again, without Rodman covering the best on the other teams, the Bulls may have not been three-time champions during his tenure.

In all, he was a five-time NBA champion, on the NBA All-Defensive First Team seven times, averaged more rebounds a game and earned more rebounding titles than both Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain, and was a two-time All-Star and on two All-NBA Third Teams.

But, still, he only has a 0.2805 percent chance of getting into the NBA Hall of Fame. Yet he did way more than some that are already in there currently. So, really, when people think of Rodman, they think about him as a party guy who posed nude on his autobiography.

And they all pass him over because of it, but don't look at his body of work, like they actually should. And that is hypocritical to me and makes no sense—he should be in the Hall of Fame already, but is still not.

Can anyone tell me why he isn't? Because it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. To me, if he doesn't get in before some of the NBA's current players like Jason Kidd or some that are about to retire, then the NBA Hall of Fame is a joke.

Just because he was not like everyone else and went to a beat of his own drum doesn't mean it was wrong. He was one of the best of all-time, and should be recognized for his competitiveness and accomplishments with a place in the NBA Hall of Fame.
