Will HBK Retire?
Will HBK hang up the old boots and chaps? Or will WrestleMania 25 be the time he takes it all back?
Well, what can I say? The man is simply the greatest worker ever to lace a pair of boots in the industry. So the question on everyone's minds has to be, when will "The Showstoppa" finally hang it up?
His health seems to be an issue nowadays. Lower back problems continue to arise and his knees are definitely non-existent. But, will he finally come to terms with these ailments and leave what he loves? The answer is most likely going to be no, but let's look at what is happening this year. WrestleMania 25 looks to the biggest 'Mania in a long time.
Emanating from Texas—the home of a long list of wrestlers who have made it "big"—this year's Wrestlemania seems to have a different feel to it.
Let's look at the Hall of Fame. Now with the likes of Flair, Hogan, and Hart already inducted, where does that bring us? The next class of Hall of Famers will definitely entail a few familiar names that may surprise you.
It is highly unlikely that the name Stone Cold Steve Austin won't be on that list. After all, he is from Texas. But what about Michaels? Does he wrestle in this 'Mania like it's just another year gone by?
I, for one, think that if Shawn Michaels were to retire at a certain time in his career, this is the year to do it. WrestleMania, live from Texas! Headlining? Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker.
The stipulation is that the loser leaves town, which has kind of a western cowboy feel to it, doesn't it? Michaels would probably be coming out in chaps anyways.
Tombstone...1,2,3...the storied career of HBK comes to a close in his home state with friends and family surrounding him, and The Undertaker's streak lives on. I know what you're thinking, it's just down right ludicrous to actually even think about HBK retiring. Well people, April 5 isn't that far off...
