edgar solorzanoMay 24, 2011

WBO bantamweight champion, Kaliesha "Wild Wild" West (13-1-2, 4 KOs) will be battling back in the squared-circle on June 18 at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena in Pico Rivera, Calif.

West, 23, will defend her title against an opponent that will be announced shortly. West's fight will be featured as the boxing main event on International Fight Showdownโ€™s fight card, titled, โ€œIFS8: Mass Destruction,โ€ promoted by Red Scorpion Promotions.

Kaliesha West is one of the most talented female fighters in the game. West is coming off an explosive seventh-round knockout over the tough warrior, Angel Gladney. After her terrific battle against Gladney; West was highly motivated and ready to conquer the future.

However, Kaliesha had a serious motor vehicle accident in early January of 2011. Due to the accident, Kaliesha had to take some time off to heal and be 100 percent ready.

Although West couldnโ€™t get a fight a few months back; she stayed motivated and hungry while learning new formulas in the ring. Formulas that are quite difficult to solve and could flunk any fighter who doesnโ€™t come 110 percent ready.

Kalieshaโ€™s role-model, father and trainer, Juan West stated, โ€œI am anxious to see my daughter fight after her serious car accident. Kaliesha stated to me that because she survived a horrific car accident, when she steps into that ring, she does not fear death. I have noticed her sparring sessions have become more intense. She is actually looking more dangerous then she has in the past.โ€

This young fighter has all the right elements to be successful in the sport of boxing. With the force of a shark and the mentality of a tiger; itโ€™s quite hard for fans or even philosophers like Socrates to question her talent. She has the speed, movement and work-ethic of a champion.

West has impressive foot-work, speed and rhythm when fighting in the ring.

Kaliesha is one of the most complete female fighters in the game. She has that strong sharp jab, great left and right hooks and knows how to trap her opponents with her timing.

Kaliesha West always brings the action and great energy when battling in the ring. Westโ€™s fights are the type of fights that would leave a French Mime screaming for more. If you don't believe it; go see it yourself and be a witness on June 18 at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena in Pico Rivera, Calif.
