Light the LampSenior Writer IOctober 16, 2008

The Jackets power rankings meta-score is back again this season. Some of the rankings have yet to be released and I will update this post when they become available.

Without further adu here we go:
Rank: 23rd (-1)
Nice debuts for the kids Derick Brassard and Jakub Voracek. Brassard had goals in each of the Jackets' first two games while Voracek had a goal and an assist.
Rank: 14th (new)
Two good periods, two bad periods and two so-so periods. Chemistry is a big issue right now.
Rank: 20th (new)
The Blue Jackets will have to survive without veteran Michael Peca, who was suspended indefinitely for making contact with a ref.
Rank: 23 (new)
Rookie Jakub Voracek gives hope for the secondary scoring with a goal and two points in two games.
Rank: 18 (+5)
(.500) The new-look Blue-Jackets blew two leads in their first game of the season, but an old face — Rick Nash — bailed the team out in the end. Nash potted the game-winner 4:39 into overtime against the Dallas Stars. But no one came to the team's rescue during Saturday's 3-1 loss to Phoenix.
Rank: 19 (new)
Coach Ken Hitchcock firmly believes his team will make the playoffs this season. It's going to be nip and tuck.
Rank: 22 (+3)
Scoring goals has been a problem.

Meta-score: 19.85 (last week N/A)
