Are Coaches Holding a Joe Paterno Grudge? Penn State Gets Only Three No. 1 Votes

We know who the 61 coaches are who vote in the USA Today/Coaches poll, but we won't find out who they vote for until the last week of the season.  We know that only three of them saw fit to vote Penn State University number one this week...Unbelievable!!

Of the seven coaches listed below, more than half did not vote Penn State number one in the nation:

Bret Bielma, Wisconsin Badgers

Lost to PSU 48-7 at home Saturday night.  The worst beating Wisconsin took at home in decades...He probably voted for the Lions.

Mike Riley, Oregon State Beavers

His team is improving rapidly and stunned the college football world with an upset over the then No. 1 USC Trojans. He went to State College early this year—it wasn't pretty.  Penn State: 45 Oregon State: 14...He probably voted for the Lions.

Joe Tiller, Purdue Boilermakers

Lost to Penn State 20-6.  It is the worst beating his Boilermakers have taken this year because it occurred in their own backyard...He should have voted for the Lions.

Ron Zook, Illiinois Fighting Illini

Penn State beat the Illini worse than anybody yet.  More convincingly than Missouri...He should have voted for the Lions.

Mark Dantoni from the Michigan State Spartans, Rich Rodriguez from the Michigan Wolverines, and Jim Tressel from The Ohio State Buckeyes...All Big Ten coaches who know what it is like to play in the conference, and especially at Camp Randall (Wisconsin) on Saturday night...If any of these coaches did not vote for the Lions, I guarantee you that when Penn State gets done with them, they will quickly do so.

Joe Paterno has a great team this year.  Are they as good or better than Texas or Alabama?  We won't know until they play each other.  If I had a vote in the Coaches Poll, I would have given to Penn State.  I think they are the best team in the country but that's just one man's opinion!
