Chris Baker and Langdon Perry were talking about Magic Johnson after bringing up the topic of health care isn't a basic right. Then Perry asked about certain diseases that can be treated by medicine throughout a lifetime. Then the two brought up Magic Johnson and Aids. Here's what was said.
Baker responded, “Like Magic Johnson?”
Perry replied, “Like Magic with his faked AIDS. Magic faked AIDS.”
Baker said, “You think Magic faked AIDS for sympathy?”
Perry replied, “I’m convinced that Magic faked AIDS.”
“Me too,” Baker said.
Apparently this was a conservative talk show but I don't think it matters what political affiliation these two dimwits are with. Perry and Baker show why ignorance does not equal bliss.
First of all there is something fundamentally wrong with what they were saying to begin with. Magic Johnson never had AIDS, he had HIV which is a virus that can lead to AIDS. Just because someone has HIV does not necessarily mean they'll get AIDS there's a high probability of getting it within 10-15 years after being diagnosed with HIV.
I've got to hand it to Magic for how he responded to the comments. Instead of personally attacking Perry and Baker he instead is quoted as saying this "Millions are dying from HIV/AIDS, and the fact that they would make jokes about my status is unbelievable, Chris, Langdon, and KTLK should use their power in a more positive light by encouraging people to get tested for this disease instead of making up such ridiculous lies.”
I've also got to hand it to the Radio Station for steering faraway from Perry's and Baker's remarks. Including having a public service announcement about AIDS and also asking Magic Johnson himself on plans to help educate people better about HIV/AIDS.
The next step for the radio station is that Perry and Baker should be forced to attend support groups for people's who friends or family have dealt with someone who's had HIV/AIDS. If Perry and Baker do not do that then they should be fired. As Magic Johnson has said he would rather see the two be educated on the subject of HIV/AIDS rather then seeing the two fired.

Baker and Perry should both be fired. They should do research before they make bad comments. They should apologize to Magic and they should become examples of what not to say on the air.

I don't think anyone would or could "fake AIDS", that is absurd. Thry shouldn't be fired for saying ridiculous things, every radio show host does that.
Treat your political corectness before it turns into a full blown desire for censorship.

Have them learn more about HIV/AIDS and see people and families who are suffering. Firing them wouldn't do justice.................
