Poor old Sergio Ramos didn't drop the ball, he dropped the cup!

After last night's historic victory over old rivals Barcelona, the team went out and about to show of the Copa del Rey to the fans and public.

It was 1993 the last time Real Madrid managed to achieve victory in this cup, so the celebrations were well overdue, but no one could have expected the unexpected to happen.

Whilst taking applause from adorning fans atop the open top bus, Real Madrid player Sergio Ramos lets slip from his grasp the Copa del Rey and the bus appears to run right over the top of it.

After a few moments, though, the cup is retrieved from under the bus, apparently still in one piece and not flat as a tin can.

I bet he's popular at Spanish football authority headquarters.

On twitter this morning, Sergio tweeted, "There has been a misunderstanding about the cup, it didn't fall, it jumped when it got to Cibeles and saw so many Madristas [Real Madrid fans]."

But he later added in a second tweet: "Don't worry, it is fine."
