Dolphins-Texans: Expect More of the Same from Miami in Order to Beat Houston

Preview/Prediction

Miami is coming into Houston with two wins in a row against two premier teams in the AFC. Houston is coming off of a game where they gave up 21 points in the last few minutes in a loss against the Colts. Miami hasn't beaten Houston since they joined the NFL.

There's no better time than the present.

Miami should be able to continue their momentum and beat Houston who hasn't won a game this year.

So far, the "wildcat" formation has worked exceedingly well for Ronnie Brown and the Dolphins. Hopefully, Brown can get it to work again against the Texans. Five of Miami's last seven touchdown's have occurred while the Dolphins were in the wildcat formation.

To beat the Texans, the Dolphins must shut down wide receiver Andre Johnson and tight end Owen Wilson, which will force the Texans to run.

Miami's run defense is one of the best in the league. They were able to hold LaDanian Tomlinson to barely anything, so they should be able to contain the Texan's Steve Salton.

As long as Ronnie Brown can continue to run as well as he has so far, Miami will get many opportunities to win. Expect Ricky Williams to get a few carries, but not nearly as many as Brown will.

Chad Pennington should be able to build off of Brown's success. The better Brown does, the easier it will be for Pennington to spread out the field and hit excellent receivers like Greg Camarillo and tight end Anthony Fasano. It has worked so far, so, hopefully it will continue.

My prediction

A good game, but Miami comes out on top 21-13.

Houston is so freaking awful it's sick.

Ronnie Brown has impressed me but this whole direct snap thing is going to get stomped on at some point.

I agree with Ray, somebody will figure out how to counter it and when they do Miami better have a new trick up their sleeve.

Yes, they will, but I'm really not that worried. We have Bill Parcells helping, so we're bound to have something in case the "wildcat" formation doesn't work. We do, in my mind, have the best running back combination in the NFL, though. So even if the "wildcat" is countered, there will be something to replace it. I really think we can win the playoffs this years. Everything is working right now

I sure hope they do. After last year, the Phins deserve a bit of success
