Ahh....I love the smell of napalm in the morning. I love the sound of "Nine out of Ten."
Lise finally makes a dramatic turnaround and kicks MiamiMitch (2/10) in the teeth with a 9/10 score from last week. She's baaaack!
New totals:
Lisa 19/50
Boys 24/50
Lise's next victim is Joshua Riddley (JC), a seminary student. I guess I have to be nice, eh?
Josh makes it short and sweet in describing himself:
"Seminary Student from the Upstate of South Carolina. Loves the South Carolina GAMECOCKS and SOS. HATES Clemsux, Tar heels, the other USC and Ohio State."
Well, looks like Joshua isn't very nice to other teams, so let's have some fun with this.
The games......
Wake Forest - 3 v Clemson
Lisa: Wake Forest. Clemson has failed to impress me and Wake is playing at home.
JC: Wake Forest. Annihilating Clemsux, sending Tammy Boutdun on his way.
Oklahoma - 7 v Texas @ Dallas
Lisa: Oklahoma. As much as Colt McCoy has improved, the Longhorns' D stinks, and against the Sooners' prolific O, Sooners will win big.
JC: Oklahoma. I would love to see TEXAS win, but they won’t.
Kansas -14 v Colorado
Lisa: Colorado. The Jayhawks didn't look very good last week against the Cyclones. The Buffs cover.
JC: Kansas. Jayhawks win 13th straight at home with ease.
Vanderbilt -3 @ Mississippi State
Lisa: Missy State. I think the hangover effect takes effect here. Possible upset.
JC: Vandy. Bobby Johnson has Vandy prepared to pull out a tough defensive battle.
Georgia -12.5 v. Tennessee
Lisa: Tennessee. Sure the Vols are bad, but the Dawgs are not as confident. Vols cover.
JC: Georgia. Closer than most would think but Georgia still wins by 14.
North Carolina -7.5 v Notre Dame
Lisa: North Carolina. ND is 0-1 on road games. Make that 0-2.
JC: Notre Dame. I wish they would both lose….but it think the luck puts the Irish over the edge.
Miami -15.5 v Central Florida
Lisa: Central Florida. Too many points for a bi-polar team to cover.
JC: Miami. Miami runs away with this game even though they're both horrible.
Mizzou -13.5 v Oklahoma State
Lisa: Mizzou. The Cowboys' bubble bursts and Mike Gundy says, "who are those guys?"
JC: Mizzou. This game is going to be ugly.
Penn State -5 @ Wisconsin
Lisa: Penn State. The Nits will finally break their two game curse at Camp Randall.
JC: Penn State. Jo PA pulls this one out in a close one.
Florida -4.5 v LSU
Lisa: Florida. This is a huge game and Tebow finally makes every body believe in Superman again.
JC: Florida. It won't be the TEBOW SHOW but they will still find a way to pull the cats out of the top ten.

Coach Brown will have his troops more than ready to take advantage of the first mistake the Sooners make. Coach Stoops will go ballistic in front of some pretty rowdy fans. Texas "D" is going to play their best football this season. Texas wins at home. Outright.
As good as Tebow is, the rest of the 'Gators aren't. This is a game I wouldn't mind seeing both teams lose, but the Tigers will do more than cover.

I am taking the Vols to cover as well. While they can't score any points, they have done a pretty good job (except on special teams) at keeping the other team from scoring as well.

Michael-
I just refuse to believe the Vols are that bad. They may be just a slow-starter...OK, that's stretching it, but I think Georgia is still shell-shocked after being spanked by Bama. That's gotta mess with their heads. Besides, I'm counting on Phil to drive all the Vols fans crazy by winning this game, a game he should lose. Mayhem in Knoxville.
Miami- I'm sorry sweetie. You were a complete gentleman, and if someone can't do his picks, I'll give you a second chance. It was a pleasure plating with you.
Scott- Hahahaha! Love it! Gray Ghost came up with a new urban dictionary word. He needs to enter it in there!

Oh, so Lisa my bud is selling my Dawgs short again eh? Watch out this weekend my friends! The Dawgs are going to be growling mad!
The urban dictionary? I may have to check into that with my new vocab word. Thanks for keeping it alive Scott!

Way to kick my butt and everything else in ...Good luck this week. I'd love to give my picks but let's just say I hope you throw Josh a beating for this comment...
JC: Miami. Miami runs away with this game even though they're both horrible.
This coming from a Rank bunch of Smelley Succup's? I'm officially on Kentucky this weekend even though I haven't touched it in my blog....

and then some Scott, I need Jackie Chiles from Seinfeld to really give the full explanation.
Josh, Miami is a young team comprised of almost all freshman and sophmores, both of those teams would run South Carolina out of the gym. THe names I used were all South Carolina players, it was a joke as has been the Cocks for as long as I can remember. Maybe 4 good years out of 100?

mm.com picks teams like Buffet picks stocks - go for value, those under the radar, against the spread. Just got burned last week. But I'll bet his season-long record is pretty good.
And the Canes every week.

Aww...thanks Jim...if it was at South Bend, I would have picked ND, fyi. I'm just not sold on the Irish traveling. I hope I'm wrong...I would like to see ND back in the rankings....it's not the same w/o them there.

I think you got the ND outcome right.
>What do sunbathers on a nude beach and Notre Dame have in common?
>Both are over exposed.
Good luck Lisa.
Good Luck Josua - and you'll want to learn a wee bit more tollerance in the ministry profession. Comments like"Annihilating Clemsux, sending Tammy Boutdun on his way." might offend an occasional parishoner. ;)

I don't understand...I thought LSU was very good. I know that Florida losing to Ole Miss was just an enormous upset, and that Florida is still pretty good, but I think LSU is better than Florida.
I agree with both of you on PSU, of course, and Clemson. Clemson is overrated and they have so much talent but yet they cannot win. I think UNC is much better than ND, and so will agree with Lisa there.
I still think Vandy keeps their undefeated streak alive. Maybe next week they lose.
Can I pick one week?

Hmmm....I think this game shows which team is a contender, and which is a pretender. LSU has QB issues, and Florida's O has been shaky. I am betting on Tebow over Lee or the Harvard transfer.

I think OU's defensive and offensive lines are going to win it for OU. Especially the defense. bradford has got to put together some long drives to keep em fresh though.

Lisa, it's a beautiful thing to see a women that knows her CF.
It was hard for me to see women speak on something that man ruled for so long.
Times have changed and all men need to read your blogs. The "froth" has truely risen to the top.
Your a Sweetheart with a Spear and something tells me you won't hesitate in lauching it towards anyone that challenges your CF "Knowledge".
Just wanted to let you know that 2 wrongs dont make a right!
Irish win - Hands down! 38-13 That's if we can make an elusive FG. Who knows there might be a female Soccer player that can kick for her brothers. I'm all for it.........Go Irish!

ND on the road 0-1 then you have them going 0-2 (becuase there on the road)....... "Wrong"!
ND will make it "Right"!!! They will win "On The Road"
No sarcasm- What I spoke of you I meant and I was truely being genuine.
I apoligize , it did sound a little kniving on my part. Meant no disrepect..... I like your views , actually more then some of the retards that think they know college football. Chat with you soon---Go Irish!!!

D-
thanks....I think UNC is very underrated...if you beat them and still aren't in top 20, then I would friggin boycott the NCAA.
Auburn has 2 losses and is in top 20, and ND is 4-1, and not ranked...something is seriously wrong. Also, why does Cal (1 loss) have no ranking, while Michigan State is ranked, but lost to Cal.
I get frustrated with this stuff.
Good luck...it will be a great game and I'm watching it.

Don't underestimate the importance of the Wisconsin Band being back on the sidelines! I can't bring myself to believe that the Badgers will lose two straight at home under the lights after having won 16 straight until last week. In a close one the band gives the Badgers the extra edge it needs to take down the Lions.

Good job last week Lisa. This week will be tough...heck, what am I saying, they're all tough. I think Oklahoma and Colorado will cover, but I think Vandy will whip the Bulldogs by more than 3. Tennessee's defense hasn't been that bad, but their offense is terrible. That said, I think UGA has something to prove, and Knowshon will have a great game with UGA winning by more than 12.5. I agree with UNC over ND to cover. Miami -Central Florida is tough only because of the point spread, but Miami will win, and should cover. I don't agree with The Mizzou - Okla. St. pick. I'm going with OK. St. and the points. Penn St. will win, and I'm thinking by a TD, and LSU might just put a whipping on UF...I'm thinking Tebow has his worst game of the season, and LSU covers at the Swamp. Good luck this week.

Joshua, that makes sense. (I continued at the end rather than hoping you would find it in the middle.)
My Brother in Law is a Clemson fan and my sister had to explain to me that fans of one were NOT fans of the other. At least I think he is a Clemson fan, maybe he is a Gamecock fan. He is definitely not into football.
Your point is well taken. Everybody needs a place to vent. I sometimes wonder were my priest vents. I don't think it is at football games. What a shame.

No I am not. I think they are a good team. But I don't think they have proved they are as good as their initial ranking. Their three non-conference games showed me they have some weaknesses, and I am not afraid to call it like I see it.
Do I think they have a chance to win the SEC? Of course! But they have to play better. They have to go out there and make a statement. A huge statement. I think part of the porblem is they believed all of their hype, just like USC and Florida. It happens. It's how they respond to a devastating loss that is what makes them a contender or not. Struggle against the Vols, and they may be in trouble.
Finally, I didn't pick the Vols to beat the Dawgs, I just said the Vols cover the spread. That's not disrepecting the Dawgs- I just think Fulmer is on the hot seat and needs to have a good game, and the Dawgs got hammered by the Tide and may have lost some of that swagger.

Lisa's got her groove back. I'm going to count Jesse as one of the pickers in comments this week, since he would even have lost if all his other games would have come through.
Stats for next week - Lisa 3, Bleacher Boys 0.
Talk it up, Lisa. Get more pickers in your comment section and you will soon catch up.
