September was a cracking month for football. All the domestic leagues around Europe settled down, and, on the international stage, the World Cup qualifiers kicked into gear. To boot, we were blessed with a fine selection of brilliant strikes, which we have sifted through to pick out the best of the best for our regular “Goal of the Month” competition.

This list includes some goals that missed out on our August competition, and we hope you forgive us as if we include these goals in September’s list.
