College Football: Complete Week Seven Predictions and Picks

Jonny SAnalyst IJanuary 22, 2017

Week Seven of the College Football Season is upon us. There are some notable games on the schedule this week including the #1 ranked Oklahoma Sooners vs the #5 ranked Texas Longhorns.

Last week I predicted the winners and scores for 32 games and my final record was 25-7. I also picked ten games and teams that were on upset alert... seven of those upset alert games there was either an upset or the favorite won by less than seven points. My other upset alert picks were simply not close at all.

I hope I can continue to do well and also improve. This week and from now on I am only predicting the winner and score while also giving one thing to watch for in the game rather than an entire summary. Enjoy and feel free to chime in!

Clemson at #21 Wake Forest- Somewhat low-scoring game decided by quarterback play.

Winner- WAKE FOREST: 20-17 (Wake needs to watch out though, they're on UPSET ALERT)

#5 Texas vs #1 Oklahoma- High scoring battle. The team with the most turnovers loses.

Winner- OKLAHOMA: 38-27

Minnesota at Illinois- Minnesota will score more points than people expect but the Illini will score more. Illinois back in the top 25 next week.

Winner- ILLINOIS 40-27

Colorado at #16 Kansas- The offenses will go up and down and Colorado should rush the ball very effectively.

South Carolina at Kentucky- Low scoring, ugly game. Two good defenses. Spurrier's team may have found themselves last week at Ole Miss.

Winner- SOUTH CAROLINA 17-13

#14 Utah at Wyoming- Ugly for Wyoming... over in 5 minutes.

Winner- UTAH 48-6

#13 Vanderbilt at Mississippi St.- Another low-scoring SEC game. Mississippi St. is not very good this year but they play everyone hard. I expect this close, be careful Vandy i see a possible let down.

Winner- MISSISSIPPI ST. 17-14 (For some reason I feel an upset here; UPSET ALERT)

Nebraska at #7 Texas Tech- Where is the love for Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree for Heisman? Another huge game for them both. Harrell: 398 yards, 4 TD's. Crabtree: 9 catches for 135 yards, 2 TD's.

Winner- TEXAS TECH 49-22

Arizona State at #8 USC- Mark Sanchez will start and play well. Carpenter will start and leave by the third quarter. Joe Mcknight will have a punt return for a TD. Stafon Johnson will gain 120 yards rushing. ASU will struggle.

Winner- USC 45-16

Tennessee at #10 Georgia- Tennessee and Georgia is always fun but the Vols of '08 are horrific. Their offense looks like something out of horror movie. I think Moreno is controlled but Stafford will have a big day.

Winner- GEORGIA 34-9

Purdue at #12 Ohio State- If Purdue's defense can play as well as it did last week they can win... but this game is on the road. Beanie runs for 196 yards, 3 TD's.

Winner- OHIO STATE 28-10

Notre Dame at #22 North Carolina- UNC is a pretty good team and Butch Davis is a great coach. I see Clausen making a few mistakes this weekend and hurting his team. UNC should be able to pass on the Irish secondary.

Winner- NORTH CAROLINA 27-20

#23 Michigan State at Northwestern- NWU is much improved and it is great to see them playing well; however their Cinderella season ends this week when Javon Ringer runs for 185 yards and 2 TD's.

Winner- MICHIGAN STATE 31-17

Arkansas at #20 Auburn- Arkansas' offense is better than Auburn's, but Auburn's defense and special teams are ridiculously talented. Auburn is still overrated at #20 but will take care of a young Hog's squad.

Winner- AUBURN 22-6

Arizona at Stanford- Arizona is a tougher team than they get credit for. They are habitual under-achievers but they will take care of business in Nor Cal.

Winner- ARIZONA 34-20

New Mexico at #9 BYU- Huge game for BYU's offense and I would not be surprised if New Mexico was shut out. BYU continues its undefeated season and may drop to #10 even with an impressive win.

Winner- BYU in a blowout 55-7

#25 Ball State at Western Kentucky- Watch out Ball State! WKU is not a bad team and played Virginia Tech fairly tough last week. Offense is certainly not hard to come by for the Cardinals and they should put up some more points this week. I like Ball St. but they need to be careful.

Winner- BALL STATE 30-24  (They need to watch out though, BSU on UPSET ALERT)

#17 Oklahoma State at #3 Missouri- If you love offense, watch this game. If both teams combine for 70-80 points I will not be shocked. I am putting Missouri on an UPSET ALERT but I think they will win in a track meet.

Winner- MISSOURI 42-34     (Watch out though Tigers, you're on UPSET ALERT)

#4 LSU at #11 Florida- I just don't see UF losing two straight games at home. It is going to be an extremely close game and I think it will be decided in the final four minutes. I think the result of this game is more because LSU is a little overrated this year and it is in Gainesville. LSU's quarterback is a concern as well as their secondary. Tebow won't have a good game at all, but Harvin and Rainey will go wild. UPSET ALERT

#6 Penn State at Wisconsin- I thought Wisconsin would win last week but they choked it up. This week I think they start a new home win streak and upset Penn St. The N-Lions looked average at best past week vs Purdue. I see Wisconsin fighting until the end and pulling the upset.

#15 Boise State at Southern Miss- The Broncos are nasty and can hang with a lot of teams. They should go down to Southern Miss and put up around 35-40 points. Southern Miss may score a few points but Boise St. will win handily.

Winner- BOISE STATE 39-20

UCLA at Oregon- The Ducks will bounce back from their blowout loss to USC and should beat the Bruins by a few touchdowns. Look for Oregon running backs to run for over 250 yards combined.

Winner- OREGON 45-13

UCF at Miami- UCF will play the Hurricanes tougher than people think mostly because a lot of these guys have played one another when they were high school students in Florida. Miami should win but they will sweat a bit.

Winner- MIAMI 34-21

Louisville at Memphis- L'ville will outscore the Tigers in the second half to take the game away.

Winner- Louisville 33-24

Tulsa at Southern Methodist- Tulsa has scored over 50 points four straight times, make that five after this week. They will be ranked #24 next week.

Winner- TULSA 58-17

Those are the 25 games I am doing this week. Let's see if I can have second straight solid week of predictions. Enjoy the weekend and the GREAT matchups! Should be another exciting and memorable week of CFB!
