Matchup: Mizzou Receivers Vs. Oklahoma State Secondary

One of the most underrated matchups this weekend will be the No. 17 Oklahoma State Cowboys vs the No. 3 Missouri Tigers. Both teams have explosive offenses and good defenses. But the most intriguing matchup this weekend will be the Mizzou receivers against the Oklahoma State secondary.

The Cowboys rank 51st in pass defense coming into the matchup with the Tigers. Some matchups we need to look at in this game.

Jeremy Maclin vs. Jacob Lacey

Now, Lacey isn't the best corner in college football, but he is a solid player in the Big 12. Jeremy Maclin is an amazing receiver, but the one game against a quality opponent, he had four receptions for 31 yards. Illinois did a great job in taking Maclin out of the game and I would expect a safety to help Lacey cover Maclin to make sure he doesn't beat you.

Chase Coffman vs. Perrish Cox

Watching film on Chase Coffman this year, they have a corner on him, which is really not fair. Perrish Cox is the tallest corner the Cowboys have, and I would expect him to cover Coffman most of the time. This may not happen, but expect a linebacker to drop back in coverage on third downs because Chase Daniel will be looking for him.

Jared Perry vs. Ricky Price

After Maclin and Coffman, Perry is going to be the next receiver Daniel looks at. He isn't a fast receiver, but he is a reliable target and will usually be dealing with one-on-one coverage. It is important for safety Ricky Price to stay at home and be watchful of Maclin going one way and Perry the other, because either can break it for a big gain.

With the skill of Missouri receivers, there may not be enough speed on Oklahoma State's part to stop them. But if they can disrupt the flow of the offense, they may be able to contain the Tigers.
