10 Things I Learned from Wrestlemania 27

1 of 12

Wrestlemania 27 is officially over and I feel like I learned some things from the event.

    The card went like this:

Dark Match for the United States Championship: Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan, ends in no contest.

Dark Match Battle Royal: The Great Khali

World Heavyweight Championship: Alberto Del Rio vs. (c) Edge, Edge retains

    Cody Rhodes defeated Rey Mysterio

Big Show, Kane, Santino Marella and Kofi Kingston defeated The Corre

    Randy Orton defeated CM Punk

Morrison, Stratus and Snooki defeated LayCool and Dolph Ziggler

Michael Cole defeated Jerry "The King" Lawler by DQ

    The Undertaker defeated Triple H

    The Miz defeated John Cena....twice.

    Here's what I learned.

The World Heavyweight Championship Is NOT Important

2 of 12

    This match started Wrestlemania.

Of all the matches that could've started the show WWE chose a World title match.

    Why? That's beyond me.

Rhodes and Mysterio could've been a great start. Any time a World title is involved in a match, I think it should be near the main event, if not, then it should be the main event itself.

The Royal Rumble Is Cursed!

3 of 12

    The Rumble is cursed!

The winner of the Royal Rumble match is usually granted a world title shot in the main event at Wrestlemania. Main event spot.

That's not the case for Del Rio. He got to start the show!

Now, that's not the only thing that's wrong. Whoever wins the Rumble match is cursed!

For the fourth year in a row, the winner of the Royal Rumble match lost at Wrestlemania. Orton, Cena, Edge and now Del Rio.

I wonder who will win next years Royal Rumble event.

Cody Rhodes Is on the Right Path

4 of 12

After Legacy split who did you think would be more successful? DiBiase or Rhodes?

I think we have a clear winner. Rhodes.

Anytime a young and upcoming star is able to beat a seasoned veteran like Mysterio, (at Wrestlemania nonetheless!) his future is looking bright.

I don't know what Rhodes will do next, but it's going to be for the better.

Coming off, possibly, the biggest win of his young career, Rhodes may have his breakout year.

The Corre Should Be No More

5 of 12

The Corre was absolutely destroyed last night! In record time too.

The Corre fell to the hands of Big Show, Kane, Santino and Kofi in two or three short minutes!

Amazing. Why did WWE even give Barrett, Gabriel and Slater championship belts? Just to get squashed in two minutes?

    Unbelievable.

This match was like a SummerSlam rewind.

Nexus has been dominating everything and everyone, only to lose all credibility to John Cena and friends.

The Corre was dominating everything and everyone, only to lose most credibility to Big Show and friends. See what I'm saying?

I like The Corre but maybe it's time to go their separate ways. How can they come back from such a loss?

Randy Orton Is the New 'Super Man'

6 of 12

Goodbye "Super Cena." Hello "Super Orton."

Randy Orton has single handedly dismantled the Nexus in recent weeks. Every single member. Gone. Kicked in the head and kicked back to FCW.

Remember when Cena had a tough time fighting Nexus? You do? At least he needed backup and help from other people. Orton has evolved into the new Super Man of WWE.

Of course there's the argument of, "When was the last time Cena lost cleanly?" Yeah, well at least he lost at all and has been getting owned by The Miz.

When was the last time Orton lost cleanly? When was the last time he lost at all? Royal Rumble? Elimination Chamber?

Orton didn't need the win at Wrestlemania. Punk did. Orton has already solidified himself in the WWE's main event scene.

Losing the Money in the Bank Was a Bad Idea

7 of 12

WWE decided to drop the Money in the Bank match for Wrestlemania. Okay, well what will we get in it's place?

John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Snooki vs. Dolph Ziggler and LayCool.

This match didn't last long. The guys in the match didn't even get a tag. Neither did Layla for that matter. Trish beat up McCool and let Snooki finish her off.

Now, let's brainstorm. What mid-carders could've been in a Money in the Bank match?

John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, Ted DiBiase, Evan Bourne, Drew McIntyre, Chris Masters, Christian and Tyler Reks.

How's that sound? Better than the tag team match?

Michael Cole Vs. Jerry Lawler

Michael Cole has some tattoos. How many does he have? Three? I find that surprising and slightly odd.

I don't really know what I learned from this match. Michael Cole can hold his own in a fight? Kind of? Well he is now undefeated at Wrestlemania.

Jack Swagger didn't have to be in this match at all. He was there to make Stone Cold look tougher.

People said that this match went on longer than it should have and that Cole was too dominant, I want to say. He didn't get as bad of a beating that everyone expected.

I did learn that Stone Cold doesn't change and will Stunner anyone in his way.

Undertaker Will Take Some Time off

This was a great match between the two veterans.

I honestly thought it was over after Triple H hit Taker with a Tombstone.

Triple H beat Taker badly in this match with a chair and everything around him. Undertaker locked in Hell's Gate out of nowhere for the submission victory, becoming 19 - 0.

After the match Undertaker couldn't even stand up. Triple H got up and walked away meanwhile, Undertaker had to be taken out with assistance.

Undertaker was injured going into this match and now looks as if he'll be taking some (a lot) of time off from the ring.

Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery and can return as soon as possible.

Age of Awesome Continues

10 of 12

    The Miz is still awesome!

He defeated John Cena at Wrestlemania twice in the same night! Once by count out and the second time by pin fall.

Last night was the first time Cena ever lost a singles match at Wrestlemania.

Miz will be champion going into Extreme Rules but who'll the challenger be? Randy Orton? John Cena?

Whoever it is, I think Miz will still be champion after Extreme Rules.

Rock Vs. Cena Is Bound to Happen

The Rock definitely sent a message to John Cena last night.

After a double count out, Rock reset the match between Miz and Cena, then hit Cena with a Rock Bottom to give Miz the victory.

There is no doubt that Cena will be angry about this and I expect some fireworks to go off between Cena and Rock on Raw. Cena will ask, "Why?" Rock will say, "Because I can!" and fists will fly.

This dream match of The Rock vs. John Cena is bound to happen. The question is when.
