Panthers-Chiefs Preview

Last week's upset of the Denver Broncos provided some needed evidence that the Kansas City Chiefs' full-scale rebuilding effort may pay off in the future. However, Kansas City still has a long way to go before being competitive on a consistent, weekly basis, especially on the road.

The Chiefs intelligently took advantage of what the Denver defense gave them in the running game. However, Larry Johnson will not find the holes so wide against a Carolina defense which has improved their efforts against the run so far in the young 2008 season.

The Panthers appear to be discovering their offensive chemistry, as well, and should not find a whole lot of resistance from a Kansas City defense that has major troubles in both stopping the run and pressuring the passer.

My prediction: Panthers 30, Chiefs 20

If you really want to do something, you will find a way. If you don’t, you will find an excuse.
