WWE: The Rock Signs a Long Term Deal

Pavitar SidhuMar 22, 2011

Many fans are under the assumption that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has only signed a short term deal with WWE, but this might not be the case, as he will be appearing for WWE several times after Wrestlemania 27.

Last month, The Rock finally returned to WWE to host this year's Wrestlemania 27 event. Many fans rejoiced and it instantly put WWE in a Wrestlemania season kind of feel that it surely lacked before the arrival of the great one.

A few weeks after his return, everyone thought Rock had only signed with WWE to appear on Raw a few times prior to Wrestlemania and, of course, to host Wrestlemania 27.

However, this is most likely false, as it has been revealed that The Rock will appear on Raw the night after Wrestlemania 27.

The only reason why he may be returning is if he's likely to continue his feud with John Cena or the Miz after the annual extravaganza. If he is continuing it, then he will most likely be making appearances a few times after Wrestlemania—not just once.

I personally believe that this is kind of pointless though because Rock has stated that he won't actually wrestle a match, so fans are more likely to be disappointed with this program at the end, since a lot of them have high hopes for a match between The Rock and John Cena.

The Great One hasn't wrestled on TV in over seven years, but that doesn't mean he's completely forgotten everything. It was reported a few months ago that he has a complete ring at his house and does wrestle during his training sessions.

Therefore, a match might not be completely out of the picture just yet.

Anyhow, I'm glad that The Rock's most recent tenure with WWE won't end right away after Wrestlemania 27, but it will at least continue for another few weeks after the big event.

Now, if only he would agree to work a match.
