Sharif "The Lion" Bogere To Face John Molina on May 13 on Showtime

edgar solorzanoMar 15, 2011

Ugandan lightweight Sharif "The Lion" Bogere (19-0, 12 KO), one of the hottest boxing prospects, will be back in action on May 13.

Bogere will be facing John Molina (21-1, 17 KO), who is coming off an 11th-round TKO victory over Henry Lundy. This exciting battle will be televised by Showtime on their ShoBox series.

Sharif "The Lion" Bogere is coming off an exciting first-round knockout over Shamir Reyes. Sharif is a fighter with the perfect style to conquer some of the big names in the lightweight division.  Bogere is like a punching machine who never stops throwing good combinations. His stamina is great and has enough power to make some warriors quit.

Wemby Jokes About Villain Role

This talented prospect has battled on several untelevised undercards, such as the Mosley-Mora HBO PPV event and the Khan-Maidana battle that took place in Las Vegas.

Although Sharif Bogere is a dangerous lion in the ring, his opponent, Molina, is no joke. Molina is a tall fighter with a great right hook. He was able to knock down the undefeated Henry Lundy with it. Molina is five inches taller than Bogere. He has the reach advantage, but Bogere has the skills and speed to make it a great battle.

However, Molina relies too much on his right hooks, and they are too wide. That may give him few problems when facing a quick fighter that knows how to move in and out like Sharif Bogere.

I was talking to Sharif about his upcoming fight at the Cotto-Mayorga event.  I asked him what he does when he is not boxing, and he stated, "I keep myself busy with boxing and always working hard." Sharif Bogere doesn't really have the time to do other sports. He is always working hard at the gym.

These two prospects are highly motivated and want to become the next champion, but only one will succeed on May 13. This will be a battle that will make the fans respect these two talented warriors.

Here's the interview.
