Reports coming out of Florida this week have suggested that, if asked, Hulk Hogan would be agreeable to a return to the WWE.
The source is Honky Tonk Man, whose motives are, at the very least, questionable, but given that Hogan's contract situation is as yet undecided and that ratings have not improved under his tenure, could he be about to leave TNA?
It would seem highly unlikely that the WWE would ever use the Hulkster again, given his commitment to TNA for the past year. Also given his back injuries, it's highly unlikely Hogan will ever wrestle again.
So, is this merely an unfounded rumour?
Well, stranger things have happened. With the number of comebacks in the past couple of months, Hogan returning, even in a Legends capacity, is not beyond the realm of possibility.
He could even be a candidate for that often-speculated Raw General Manager's role.
After all, that person still has no face, so the WWE could simply give the job to Hogan. And given that the GM does not like Bret Hart, it would at least correlate to that statement.
Hogan is long past his prime, and yet he still seemingly sells tickets wherever he goes. Can the WWE do what TNA couldn't and make the legendary Hulk Hogan meaningful again, one last time?
At present, TNA are relying upon old formulas in the effort to produce strong results, and it's not working. They are largely holding steady. Hogan and Bischoff are simply returning to their old ways.
At least in the WWE, Hogan would be directed into a new angle rather than rehashing the nWo.
So, what's the future of the legend that is Hulk Hogan: TNA or WWE?
