Possible Names for Undertaker to Face at WrestleMania 27

1 of 9

There are many names that have been thrown around as possible opponents for The Phenom at WrestleMania 27. I have come up, as many of you have, several names that could give the Undertaker a run for his money.

Many of the names I've chosen, have been swirling around the Internet and have caused quite a stir among many fans.

    Wade Barrett

    John Cena

Please keep your eyes peeled, there is something similar in all the pictures I've used. You'll see.

This is, STING

Sting is rumored to be facing the Undertaker at WM 27. No contracts have been announced, nor have there been any reported sightings of Sting in Connecticut. There is but a photoshopped picture, and a vignette showing a trench coated figure going into an old western house.

Sting would be a perfect opponent for ‘Taker at WM for an old school fan like me. This is a match I wanted to see during the Bad A$$ days of ‘Taker because of the entrances, which always got a huge pop from the fans. Imagine today with their ominous entrances and dark presences.

Wade Barrett

Wade Barrett was mentioned by several B/R writers as the man to take on the Undertaker . A “former member of the WWE Creative Team” has revealed that Barrett may be chosen to face ‘Taker. However, since John Piermarini’s blog was deleted for some reason, one must speculate that this “creative” idea has been trashed.

The Nexus attack on 'Taker might work, storyline wise, but it sounds a little iffy to me.

Sheamus, The King

Sheamus was seen as a potential opponent according to Dave Meltzer last fall. Sheamus is a big powerful man who could definitely give the Undertaker a hell of a time. At least he’s green enough that Taker can walk him through the motions. But that’s the problem, walking through the motions would be painful to watch.

John Cena

Enter Superman! He can sell merchandise faster than a speeding bullet, plow through the roster like a locomotive, able to leap to the rafters to sign autographs, he is JOHN CENA!!

I would not be too enthusiastic to see this match, maybe at a SummerSlam, but not WM. If Cena were to face ‘Taker at the Grand Daddy of them all, then the “Golden Boy” would get the duke, nobody wants to see that.

Diesel, Big Daddy Cool

Big Daddy Cool, the returning Diesel has expressed interest to face the Undertaker at WM. Nash is a good friend of Triple H and HHH is gaining more control over the product.

‘Taker vs. Diesel has already happened at a WrestleMania. Than again, Shawn faced ‘Taker in two encounters also, however, Shawn was already on his way out to retirement. Diesel, on the other hand, may be around after WM because of his "Legends Contract." But anyway, this match may be unlikely.

KANE, The Little Brother That Could

Last but not least, Kane may be a possible opponent for his “brother." There has been two previous encounters but if they play it right, they may be able to pull it off for the PG era.

Personally, Kane is better off feuding with a younger guy because he has much experience to pass on.

All in all, we may not know who the Undertaker’s opponent will be until after 2.21.11. At this time, it might as well be the “Angry Miz Girl." WrestleMania is looking hot this year. With so many possibilities, few fans may not help but be intrigued.

If anything, I want to see ‘Taker win his match on that fateful night. If it’s his last WM, then he should go out with a bang. I wish it were Sting, but because many young fans are not familiar with him, Vince may not allow it to happen, despite the rumored WCW theme.

I hope you all enjoyed my first slideshow, I hope all of your dreams come true at WrestleMania 27.

By the way, it’s gotta be Undertaker on that 2.21.11 video, at least we all know he’s under contract.
