WrestleMania 27: A Proposed Card for the Big Event in Atlanta

Micheal Robinson@nyyrobinsonSenior Analyst IIFebruary 4, 2011

WrestleMania XXVII (27) is two months away at this point, and I couldn't be happier about the month of February being a couple of days shorter to get it here quicker.  Yes, it's that important.

This will be my second WrestleMania, as I traveled down to Orlando three years ago, for WrestleMania 24.

This WrestleMania is special to me, because I dreamed of my hometown getting this event for years now, and would check our chances every year.

I knew, once Arthur Black (CEO Atlanta Falcons) spent all of that money renovating the Georgia Dome, that it would increase our chances.

So, the time has come.

I locked up some seats directly against the ramp, so to say I am excited would be an understatement.

It is early now, but I do think this WrestleMania will be better than the one I saw in Orlando.

Let's take a look at what I think the WrestleMania card will look like.

WWE Championship
The Miz (c) vs. John Cena

I fully expect Miz to retain heading into WrestleMania, and John Cena to walk out of the Chamber as the No. 1 contender.  I wouldn't be looking forward to this match much, but I would be cheering for The Miz, especially if some little kids are sitting near me.

I am not trying to make this into old-school WWE fan vs. new kiddie fan, because, we were all there once too.  Don't you think some adults got mad when little kids were screaming for wrestlers like Ultimate Warrior back in the day?

I have to look at it from the kids' eyes when it comes to John Cena, but at the same time, if this is done right, I don't mind Cena picking the belt back up at Mania.  This match could also be used to rehash the Miz/Cena angle in 2009. (Seen Here)

World Heavyweight Championship
Edge (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio shocked us all when he won the Royal Rumble, but, you already know that.  I don't think Christian will be added to this match, making a Triple Threat, if they still have the Money In The Bank match, and I believe they will.

They knew about the Money In The Bank PPV last year when the WrestleMania 26 card was made, so I still think it will happen this year.

The Icon vs. The Streak
Sting vs. The Undertaker

This is a longshot.  You know it, I know it.  However, the more and more the Internet gets excited about something like this, the more and WWE has to look at making this thing a reality.

The biggest problem for me, there is no one on the current WWE Roster that I would want to see The Undertaker face, maybe John Cena if it meant Cena trying to go heel, but all the kids would still cheer for him.

The more I think about Sting/Taker, it gives me goosebumps.

Diesel vs. Big Show

The Big Show is famous for getting placed into a gimmick match without much build up, I see no difference this year.

The way that Diesel stared down the entering Big Show as he was leaving the Rumble and Show was entering, only made me realize that it was a possible match at WrestleMania.

This match wouldn't last long and wouldn't be that exciting, but Diesel should get a nice ovation.

No Holds Barred
Sheamus vs. Triple H

Now, this match could have some potential, depending on how the buildup is.  I think it could work.

I just hope this isn't it for Triple H; I would like for him to have a bigger curtain call then a match with Sheamus.

Money In The Bank Ladder Match
John Morrison vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Randy Orton vs. CM Punk vs. Christian vs. Evan Bourne vs. Jack Swagger

Last year, 10 men were in this match, I see it shrinking back down to eight this year.  If a singles match between Orton and Punk doesn't happen, it would make this match so much better.

If this were the match, I want to pick Morrison, but Christian deserves it too.  Drew McIntyre could find his way into this match, especially if Punk and Orton aren't in it, I still think it will be eight instead of ten though.

Cole Miners vs. Kings Court Tag Team Match
Ted Dibiase (w/Michael Cole) vs. Daniel Bryan (w/Jerry Lawler)

I don't know how this one could play out, others have it as Jerry Lawler losing to a stipulation that would have him being replaced at the announce table (Booker T).

I am not sure about that, I just think this would be a quick match that lets Lawler get some shots in on Michael Cole.

I like these wrestlers being involved because of DiBiase getting knocked out by Lawler last week on Raw, and how much Cole can't stand Daniel Bryan.

Mask vs. Mask
Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes

This one looks more obvious by the day.  Mysterio gave Rhodes a 619, that is permanently "scarred" his face.

Rhodes has been wearing a Band-Aid on his nose to shows, and he could switch over to a mask soon.  If he does this, it will easily set this match up.

That is about all I have come up with, I think The Corre and The New Nexus could be involved in something, but I wouldn't really care, I am not a big fan of The Corre, I mean, just look at their logo, it looks like something from pre-Playstation days on Nintendo.

I hope if they do something, it doesn't take up much of the PPV.  I do think Santino and Kozlov will defend their tag team titles before hand in a dark match.

Every WrestleMania has potential to be a great show, the buildup between post Royal Rumble and Mania is crucial, and it could go either way, I hope, for my sake, it is a good build up and a good card at WrestleMania.
