The Denver Broncos have interviewed nearly everyone in the world (except several coaches who respectively declined) in their search for a new head coach. However, with today's hiring of Pat Shurmur, rumor has it that Rob Ryan is on the outs in Cleveland.

Though Rob Ryan doesn't have the credential you for in a head coach: Ryan does have everything you look for in a 3-4 defensive coordinator. If the Broncos choose to stick with the 3-4 defense, Rob Ryan could garner some interest if the new head coach chooses to move on without Don "Wink" Martindale next season.

Though his statistics weren't fantastic in Cleveland, lack of talent there caused him to improvise in some of his blitzes. With Rex Ryan (New York Jets Coach) as his brother, you know he gets pointers on blitz packages over dinner. I'm sure Buddy Ryan is right there at the head of the table saying, "Well back in my day".

Personally I'm a huge fan of the Bravado that Rex Ryan brings to coaching the New York Jets and was disappointed when the Denver Broncos chose not to bring him in for in interview before hiring Josh McDaniels.

Rex Ryan is loved by his players, knows how to use players versatility to improve his defenses (See Matt Roth) and most likely would have had a better chance to succeed if Eric Mangini wasn't around.

I don't see what it could hurt to see what he has to say and look at his blueprint for the defense.

After all, the Browns did better than the Panthers last year but 2-14 still gets John Fox an interview.
