WWE: Why the Nexus Domination Doesn't and Will Never Exist
The Nexus invasion/domination of the WWE in 2010 was one of the biggest headlines in pro wrestling. Now we are in a new year, and, while I have the chance to look back on things, I do not believe the Nexus dominated. We are only a few days into the new year and the Nexus has already changed their leader to CM Punk and Wade Barrett out of the group. Although they have added and lost people one thing remains the same: They are feuding with John Cena.
I understand why the WWE creative wants the Nexus to feud with Cena. He is a main event superstar, so throwing the Nexus in the main event gets them air time and is a credible feud. However, everyone knows Cena always wins in the end, so all WWE creative and management can hope for is that the Nexus talents get over enough to stay relevant after the Nexus is over.

They rarely were on Smackdown, and when they were, they didn't seem to make much of a difference. They always got beat by Smackdown stars and were pretty much there to get us to watch to see if something would happen.
The Nexus beat plenty of guys this past year, however, their was no domination. They held one title, which is the worst one to hold, the Tag Team Titles. However, this was still a good idea.
The tag team division is practically dead, so having a team that is credible and believable could have helped the division. Sadly, they won the titles with Cena and Otunga, gave them to Gabriel and Slater, and then lost them to a comedy act after an interference from Cena.
Barrett was in the WWE Championship for several months but never won the title. Although I agree with the decision that he wasn't ready, why do we have to believe that the Nexus and Barrett dominated? They never went after any title other than the tag team and the WWE titles. Since when does being the WWE Champ mean that you dominate everything? Oh that's right, it doesn't.
Looking back on one of my favorite stables and one of the more recent stables—Evolution—I realized why they dominated and why they were so good. Triple H was fighting for the World Heavyweight Title, Randy Orton was fighting for the Intercontinental Title, and a few times Orton/Ric Flair/Batista held the tag titles.
Their focus wasn't on one thing or one person for that matter. They wanted gold and would do anything to get it. Now you want us to think that the Nexus is the same when they only want the WWE Title and only want to hurt Cena.
Let's face it, clearly the WWE is not high on the members of Nexus individually. Barrett was really the only one who fought singles matches, except when all of Nexus were in singles matches. Therefore, I don't see the WWE giving a member of Nexus a shot at the United States Championship.
I also don't see them moving to Smackdown anytime soon for them to go after the Intercontinental Title or World Heavyweight Title. The Nexus storyline needs more changes before they start calling themselves dominant. Right now, "We Are One", never fit a group more perfectly.
