WWE 2010 Year in Review: Top 5 Funniest Moments in WWE
Your Tag Team Champs
This list represents the five funniest moments in 2010 WWE programming. Sometimes it's nice to look back at some of the more lighthearted moments in wrestling. With the emergence of Santino and Kozlov, CM Punk on commentary, and Edge throwing potato wedges at Paul Bearer; there are a lot of candidates for this list.
Feel free to add some of your own favorites in the comment section!
#5: Arn Anderson and Sheamus
My friends and I were watching this segment live and it made us all crack up. It even made Sheamus break character for a second.
#4: Edge Tormenting Paul Bearer
It was only natural that the Ultimate Opportunist would do everything he could to regain the World Heavyweight Championship- even if it meant tormenting Kane's kayfabe father, Paul Bearer. In this writer's opinion, its been nice to see Paul return for another stint, after all Bearer is an all time great manager.
This rivalry has produced countless funny moments such as Kane crying, Edge playing soccer with a tied up Bearer, and Edge dumping various food items on Bearer.
#3: Santino and Kozlov Have Tea With Sheamus
Promo Card For The Tea Party
This segment was just flat-out hilarious. Santino has taken big strides this year and has really come into his own. There was a big pop for Kozlov when Kozlov said: "You beeeeat him; you beeeeat Sheamus. It was biggest upset in double double E history." in his Russian accent. Santino makes several unintentional lighthearted jabs at Sheamus.
#2: John Cena's "Farewell" (Cena Sucks!/Let's Go Cena! Dueling Chants)
So Long Cena! Oh wait...
While I do respect Cena, I've never been too big of a fan. Though I do feel Cena really illustrated how the WWE Universe feels about him in a nutshell with this segment.
The dueling chants were roughly 50/50 (with most kids/women rooting for Cena and most men rooting against Cena.)
Another hilarious undertone to this farewell speech: Cena was supposedly "fired" and literally appeared the next week on Raw in the crowd; officially being reinstated the next week. I couldn't believe the WWE actually gave people that little credit: to actually believe Cena, the Hogan of this generation, would be fired.
#1: CM Punk Debuts On Commentary
CM Punk is great on commentary
CM Punk has become a welcome attraction in announcer's chair these past couple months. I'm giving my number one funny moment of the year to CM Punk for his announcing debut on NXT. With excellent color commentary and coming out as cocky as always, Punk stole the show with his commentary.
Great spots include his getting the divas' names wrong on purpose and ripping up Josh Matthews' photo. It's pretty obvious that several years from now; after Punk's wrestling career is over, he will have a job at the table.
