NFL Fantasy Football Week 15 Sleepers: Kerry Collins, Maurice Morris and More

Ryan LesterDec 16, 2010

Sometimes because of matchups you have to roll out less than ideal lineups, especially when your players are nicked up. Thatโ€™s the nature of the beast. Sometimes you need a fantasy gem to be successful. Here are some of the under the radar players that could possibly pull out a win for you.

Kerry Collins, QB, Tennessee Titans

I know heโ€™s not the ideal quarterback to use during the fantasy playoffs, and certainly not one anybody would have guessed at the start of the season. He does have factors working into his favor though. Heโ€™s coming off a 244 yard, three touchdown game against the Colts, Kenny Britt is finally healthy and heโ€™s facing the leagueโ€™s worst pass defense both in terms of yards allowed per game (279.9) and passing touchdowns allowed (29). Maybe weโ€™ll even have a Randy Moss sighting.

Tashard Choice, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Choice came back to Earth against the Eagles with 33 total yards. Perhaps it was a mixture of facing the Eagles 11th ranked run defense (103.5 yards allowed per game) and being starstruck in the presence of Michael Vick. Whatever the case, I expect him to bounce back against the 28th ranked Redskins run defense (134.4). The Skins are allowing 4.9 yards per carry.

Maurice Morris, RB, Detroit Lions

Morris had 51 yards last week against the Packers and is a sneaky play this week against Tampaโ€™s 27th ranked run defense (133.1). The Bucs are even more vulnerable with Gerald McCoy out.

Arrelious Benn, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Benn enjoyed toasting the Redskins for 122 yards on four catches last week. For an encore he gets to face a Detroit team that has allowed 21 touchdown passes on the year.

Ruvell Martin, WR, Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are so short of WRs that they tried to con Steve Largent out of retirement. Kidding aside, even if Big Mike Williams is able to go, Martin, who stands six foot four, should be in the mix against Atlantaโ€™s 24th ranked pass defense (233.2).

Heath Miller, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers

Miller is expected to return from his concussion in time to face the Jets this week. Their aggressive defensive style lends itself to dumping it off to the tight end.

Carolina Panthers Defense

The Panthers are a bad football team, but they may meet their equal when they take on the Cardinals. Carolina is playing at home though. Look for the Cardinals to add to their 16 INTs (11th in the league) and 40 sacks allowed (third in the league).
