Miley Cyrus Bong vs. Michael Phelps Bong: Who's The Bigger Idiot?

Miley Cyrus became the latest celebrity caught hitting the bong when TMZ posted a video of the act today.

This celebrity bong hit is the stupidest news event since Michael Phelps' photo with a bong.

Two public figures, doing basically the same thing, begs one question: Who is the bigger idiot?

Phelps, the "American Hero," who only enters into people's minds every four years, or Miley "Hannah Montana" Cyrus?

The real humor came with all of the jokes related to Phelps smoking pot.

For instance, talking about Phelps' lung capacity, and people wondering how long Phelps was able to hold his hit.

Phelps apparently eats 12,000 calories a day, wonder how much of that comes from munchies food.

Phelps was suspended for three months of competitive swimming, but he still kept many of his endorsements after the photo was published.

Phelps also was able to deflect any possible fall out from the story by continuing his swimming dominance after his admission to smoking pot.

Miley is no stranger to scandal.

She has had photos of her in her underwear leaked onto the Internet, and she was also photographed naked as a 15-year-old.

Despite all that, Miley has continued to be a teen idol.

It seems a little premature to say that this latest scandal will have much more effect than a slight PR hiccup, but we'll see.

I know I wasn't.

I mean look at him, he looks like the guy who lived down the hall in my dorm who smoked a ton of pot.

Miley always kinda seemed like the type that would do something like this behind closed doors out of the public view, but the fact that it was captured on video and posted online is a little surprising.

I guess it's just a sign of the times.

"I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment," Phelps said in a statement released by his agent.

"I'm 23 years old, and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."

Phelps also admitted that he did indeed smoke pot.

Miley Cyrus claims that they were not smoking pot and that it was instead salvia, which is legal in the state of California.

I have a hard time buying that.

Miley Cyrus is the bigger idiot here.

She was dumb enough to get filmed smoking something out of a bong, look stupid doing so, and let it get leaked online.

Phelps' photo was regrettable, but Miley's video was careless and idiotic.
