The trades the New York Knicks effectuated during the off season have been somewhat assertive. Their need to go after players that seem to be "right" for the job or that show promise (Chris Duhon, Anthony Roberson, and Gallinari) in a two-year future in my opinion, is the right thing to do. (As opposed to hiring a big name for big bucks and big time but no big results!)

I'm sick of falling deeper and deeper into the abyss known as cap space. 

Maybe it's the new mindset Donnie Walsh wants to incorporate into his hometown team…or, it just may be the very simple and realistic view that the Knicks do not want to go after big names until the 2010 season and that's the only reason why they haven't gone back to their old ways.

Who knows? Donnie Walsh did hire a coach with a high tempo basketball mind! Go figure...the Knicks are probably the slowest team in the league.

However, the acquiring of Patrick Ewing Jr., is probably one of the most stunning moves the Knicks will make this off season, and may be the smartest one yet.

Yes, the smartest!

If you know anything about Patrick Ewing Jr. and his college career you’ll see an explosive defender and that’s pretty much it. He owns no offensive skills and no incredible athleticism that would make him stand out in a Knicks roster packed with forwards (Chandler, Lee, and Z-BO) that can play on both sides of the court.

So…making the move to acquire Ewing Jr. should be seen as nothing more than a marketing scheme. Another Ewing jersey running up-and-down Madison Square Garden after all this time will most definitely get more people to the games, sell more jerseys and inevitably acquire more publicity for what was once the cornerstone franchise of the the National Basketball Association.

Can Ewing Jr. make the squad and prove everyone wrong? Or will he be over shadowed by his father?

Well, the good thing is if he's half of what his pops was, he'll do fine...New York needs any Ewing they can get!

It's said that he's a long shot to win a roster spot when the Knicks hold training camp in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. in October.

    hmmm...

    Do you feel this same way about one-dimensional Caucasoid players? If so, where's your (-) article on them? Such as, The Knick's Mr. Lee, per say? And, he most definitely doesn't come from *a bloodline* thats meaningful in Knicks' history, therefore, likely to add to gate revenues in and of itself.

    Remember owners turned this league from a passionate sport, into a business, yet of course when it comes to Black players ---as usual--- we appear to want to forget about that. Even when regarding players who're literally more of *revenue attraction* than an on-court contributor. Which I say with tongue-in-cheek, considering noteworthy defenders validate how important defense is, once you find yourself competing in the playoffs.

    I think players like Eric Snow, Theo Ratliff, and to a greater degree; Ben Wallace/Dennis Rodman have shown and proved that you can literally have none, nunca, zero, zilch offensive weapons and still become *immeasureably priceless* on the NBA Court.

    You obviously didn't consider that potential, of what young Ewing's noteworthy defense can unfurl into, before writing this article.

He has also demonstrated time and again that he actually knows nothing about sports. He only comments on this forum when he sees an opportunity to either criticize a "caucasoid" player or accuse someone else of disrespecting a "negroid" player.

      I notice that he's now running to other threads like this one since he has been thoroughly humiliated by his evident ignorance and hypocrisy in others.

    You make an awesome point! However, even though I didn't mention that defense is essential in the article doesn't mean I don't feel that way, my bad! However, I mentioned in the article that the Knicks are packed with forwards that play defense and have some offensive skills and improving. Lee and Chandler for that matters prove to be much more beneficial for a team looking to improve now! Ewing is a player in my eyes not ready for the NBA yet. He doesn't have the body or skill. I may be wrong... but right now that's my two cents.

      Nope, just saying that the Knicks went after EWING Jr. for mareking reasons. I may be wrong but that's how I see it now. The Knicks are packed with two many forwards that are more experienced and nba ready!

Although, I did see a need to ask if you had wrote the same type of article about one-dimensional Caucasoid players who, unlike Ewing Jr., do not ---I repeat!--- do not possess a bloodline thats magical in Knicks history. You yourself, alluded to his potential to draw fans to the Garden/Knicks, just for his bloodline alone. And that adds to the revenue...which is whats most important to MSG-brass, and Walsh.

    Plus, Ewing is more defensively capable, than most of the Caucasoid forwards who are NOT 1st/2nd year players with a world of potential. Thats all it is to it, and should you embrace that, then you'll stop looking for more than whats there re: my words here.

    I liked the article.

    You're right, the move was more for BR than actually making the team better. Which doesn't mean it's a bad thing though. I think Ewing Jr can be a defensive specialist, and average about 8-12 points for his career if he gets a chance to play.

      You quoted the definition for 'exploit' as a NOUN, not a VERB (the way you used the term). They have quite different meanings depending on the usage, so go back to whatever dictionary you used and try to understand the difference. Otherwise, you end up looking ignorant.

      Does that even make sense to you? Even if what you wrote above made sense, the fact remains that you have no justification for repeatedly using the racist term "yungNigg" unless you are the biggest racist here, which evidence would suggest you are.
