2011 WWE Royal Rumble Preview: So Many Possibilities
At the 2010 WWE Royal Rumble, at which I was ringside, we saw a lot of action.
Sheamus retained his WWE Championship against Randy Orton, The Undertaker retained the World Heavyweight Championship against Rey Mysterio, and Edge returned and won the Royal Rumble match.
A year later, a lot of things have changed in the WWE.
Next month, we will see the 2011 Royal Rumble, live from a chilly TD Garden in Boston.
The Miz is now the WWE Champion. Will he still have the title after WWE TLC this month, and if he does, who will he face at the Royal Rumble?
Over on Smackdown, Kane is still the World Heavyweight Champion after months of feuding with The Undertaker, it could all come full circle at the Rumble.
However, what I look forward to the most, is the Royal Rumble match up.
Every year, I look forward to it.
Since watching my first Royal Rumble in 1990, it has been my favorite event. I like it more than WrestleMania to be honest with you. It is just exciting stuff.
Anything can happen, really.
Yeah, we know about some of the surprises sometimes, but we still don't know how it will play out until the 29th man is thrown over the top rope.
At the last Royal Rumble, most in attendance and at home knew about Edge's return, but what number, would he win?
I could have sworn that John Cena, Triple H, or Shawn Michaels were going to win the match, even with Edge's return, but I was proven wrong.
That's why I like the Rumble, it always proves me wrong, and that my friends, makes it more exciting.
John Cena's premature return from his torn pectoral muscle at the 2008 Royal Rumble to eliminate Triple H is still one of the most shocking moments I've witnessed in many years as a WWE fan.
I don't think many people saw that one coming.
This year, you've got to factor in the returning Triple H to the Rumble, and possibly John Cena returning to his former self.
My opinion is that The Miz won't be wearing the gold in January, and he is my favorite to win the 2011 Royal Rumble match.
Also, what better way to finally give John Morrison that push he has worked so hard for and deserves, then winning the Royal Rumble match.
The winners of the past five Royal Rumble matches, except for Rey Mysterio, are all former champions headed into winning the event and didn't necessarily need the push.
It would be nice for Morrison to have a Rey Mysterio-like moment, as a deserving underdog winning the Rumble.
Regardless of what happens next month, I am sure I will turn off my television and say "wow," just like I do after watching every Royal Rumble.
