Rhian Sugden: MMA Ring Girl Scores SI Lovely Lady of the Day Title

Rhian Sugden is a model that's very popular across the pond, having appeared in tabloid magazines and other photo spreads.

She's also an MMA ring girl and was recently named SI.com's Lovely Lady of the Day. It's quite the honor, and to celebrate the occasion we're filling you in on Sudgen and what she's most known for.

Former Network Administrator

Before she became a model, Rhian Sugden was a network administrator for Global Telecoms and Technology.

I don't know about you, but I can't really see her fixing computers and networks and things like that.

You learn something new every day I suppose.

Page Three

Rhian Sugden became a Page Three girl in the Sun Magazine in 2006.

Page Three is a feature in tabloid magazines that showcases topless girls. Sugden became one of the more notable girls to appear in the feature.

It's obvious to see why she became so popular.

Magazine Appearances

Rhian Sugden has branched out from being a Page Three girl to doing magazine shoots. She's appeared in Maxim, Loaded, Zoo and Nuts and I'm sure it's a much more enjoyable life than being a network administrator.

The names of the magazines are quite amusing to me. I'm shocked we don't see them in America more, after seeing how popular they are in the UK.

Documentary Appearance

In 2008, Rhian Sugden appeared in the BBC documentary, Glamour Girls.

In the film, Sugden said that she is "stopped everywhere she goes," with people asking for her autograph because of her fame.

I'm not sure if that is complaining or bragging, but things could certainly be worse for her.

Television Guest Spots

Rhian Sugden not only shows up in print, but she's branched out to television.

However, in all of her guest spots, she's appeared as herself and hasn't really tried anything more serious than that.

Hey, you have to respect her for knowing her range.

Scandal

In February of this year, Rhian Sugden became the center of a scandal.

It was revealed that she sent and got explicit text messages from television personality Vernon Kay, who just so happened to be married at the time.

Oops. It looks like she's Britain's Jenn Sterger. How cute.

Animal Lover

Rhian Sugden grew up around animals all her life and now she's using her fame to help them.

Sugden works at an animal sanctuary and has helped use her celebrity to draw attention to animal rights issues.

It's good to see celebrities use their fame for good.

College Dropout

Rhian Sugden attended Bury College before becoming a model, studying law, psychology, IT and media.

The issue is, though, she couldn't handle taking tests. So, despite studying fields like law, psychology, IT, and media, she couldn't handle taking tests—so she dropped out.

Future Midwife?

In the future, Rhian Sugden aspires to be a midwife.

If you don't know what a midwife is, it's a woman who offers care to a pregnant woman before, during and after the birth, and even helps in the breastfeeding.

I'm not sure too many women are going to want her around their husbands.

MMA Ring Girl

Rhian Sugden, while also being a model, is an MMA ring girl.

I don't want to criticize anyone for what they do, but are ring girls really necessary? With scoreboards and everything, do we need a girl holding up cards for the crowd?

I know they're fun to look at but c'mon. It's a recession. We have to save costs somewhere.
