Randy Orton: A Boring and Dull Face

Ryan FryeNov 30, 2010

Since WrestleMania 26, Randy Orton has been a face.

He turned after his split with Legacy, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase.

This was an odd turn considering he was the leader of a heel stable.

Many thought DiBiase would be the one to turn since—at the time—he had a new movie coming out—The Marine 2.

Orton was the one to turn after being double-teamed the entire Triple Threat Match against Rhodes and DiBiase. He would win thanks to the very predictable ending.

He has since had fueds with Edge, Sheamus and Wade Barrett, none of them spectacular.

The fued against Edge had potential, but ended prematurely. Thanks to an Orton injury their Over the Limit Match ended in a double countout.

The fued stalled afterwards.

The Sheamus-Orton fued was enough to put you to sleep.

It had no memorable moments, promos or matches. The attempted RKO gimmick was terrible, much like Edge's spear gimmick earlier this year.

In the fued against Wade Barrett, Orton was left in the background.

This was all between Cena and Barrett. The stuff between Orton and Cena was good, if we hadn't already saw it countless times in the past.

The Barrett-Orton fued itself was boring and predictable.

Orton is now set for a fued against The Miz, with the WWE Championship hanging in the balance.

Orton will once again be booked as a super-hero against The Miz.

Miz will be in trouble but find a cheap way to win and we know this because the WWE can't book a heel champion anymore.

This fued will be anything but awesome.

Orton is becoming the face of the WWE and that is not a good thing.

Unlike "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Orton is limited by the PG Era.

He needs to get back to his old heel character, even if he is still treated like a face. Fueds with both heels and faces could fix this problem. Perhaps punting a face would make his character unpredictable and exciting once again.

Right now, Orton is becoming John Cena 2.0 and before we know it- he'll be Super Orton!
