Will The Miz Prove, Like Swagger and Sheamus, That His Reign Isn't a Fluke?

As I'm sure you already know, The Miz cashed in his MITB Briefcase on Randy Orton last night, and won the WWE Heavyweight Title.

Now allot of people are shocked, even upset by this, saying that Miz does not deserve a World title reign at this point.

I would have to agreefor now.

I seem to recall people going through the exact same thing when Jack Swagger did the exact same thing to Chris Jericho. People thought that it was to soon for Swagger to be winning the title, possibly even more so than The Miz.

Then Swagger started developing a more serious persona, no longer doing push-ups when he came to the ring, he got some big victories against Edge and Jericho in a triple threat match, he beat Randy Orton in an Extreme Rules match, and won against The Big Show at Over The Limit by intentionally disqualifying himself.

Also with Sheamus people thought it was a fluke that he beat Cena in a tables match for the Championship. Allot of people were saying that Cena just sort of fell into the table, that Sheamus didn't put him through it.

He then beat Cena again though the very next night, and Randy Orton at The Royal Rumble, He then lost the belt to HHH at the Elimination Chamber PPV.

However he would then later regain the title on June 20th at the Fatal 4 Way PPV thanks to interference from The Nexus but still establishing Sheamus even more as a main event competitor.

Sheamus would also go on to beat Cena at the MITB PPV in a steel cage match once again giving him more credibility as a WWE Heavyweight Champion.

The thing with The Miz though, is that he can't really be taken seriously. He is allot better than he used to be since he changed his ring attire and had his United States Championship run though.

In my opinion though, he still isn't at the point where people can look at him and say "yea he deserves to have that belt around his shoulder."

I have a feeling that this is going to be a short title reign and they just gave him the belt to get that MITB briefcase out of the way. Only time will tell though, we will see where the creative team takes this.
