Can Alabama Beat Clemson?

     Well it's finally here, yes that is right it is college football season. Even though most teams open the season with weak teams there is a good one on saturday night. Alabama vs. Clemson in Atlanta on ABC prime time it doesn't get any better to start the season. The big question is does Alabama (who finished 7-6last year) have a shot agains #9 Clemson? Well, yes they do and here are a few reason why:

1. John Parker Wilson. He is going to look totally different this year in Jim Mclewain's offense than Major Applewhite's. Also the offensive line this year is one of the best and will give him time to throw the ball. With Wilson being comfortable and confident his play wull be much better in 2008.

2. Alabama Defense. Though thin this defense is strong, fast, and leave it all on the field. An experienced secondary is huge with returning starters like Rashad Johnson, Kareem Jackson, and Javier Arenas. The last two didn't start every game but played a good bit. The linebackers will also be very good led by Rolando McClain. The kid is a monster. And the D line adds new comer Terrence Cody a 6ft-5 390 lbs nose guard who gets after it. This defense should be a tough defense to score on but the weakness in the depth which could hurt the tide/

3. #1 Recruiting Class. Julio Jones, B.J. Scott, Jerrell Harris to name a few. This class is full of talent and will make an impact as freshmen. Many have seen the Julio Jones youtube video this kid is the real deal. How they play against Clemson will determine the game.

4. Special Teams. Alabama will have one of the top special teams crew in the SEC. Good kicker in Leigh Tiffin who proved himself last year and a booming punter in P.J. Fitzgerald. Then there is the return team. Everybody already knows about Javier Arenas but put Julio Jones in there and it is not good for the kicking team. If these guys though the ball expect a touchdown due to there ability to make guys miss.

5. Coaching. Alabama added Jim McLewain as the new offensive coordinator and, already have good defensice minds in Kevin Steele and Kirby Smart. Nick Saban will have these guys fired up and ready to play. Excpect Bama to leave it all on the field the coaching staff has these guys ready.

    Even with these 5 points they are still playing a great team in Clemson. And Tommy Bowden will also have his guys ready to play. Its goign to be a good one i think Bama has a chance if they can keep it close the whole game but is going to be tough but, it is possible.
