College Football Opening week picks.

The best time of year is here again! Pennant races are in full swing, NFL is about to start for real. And NCAA Football is back.

Starting tonight I will handicap the games on a confidence scale. The scale will go 1 through 5. 5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest.

Since this is the first night of the season the confidence may be a little low for some because of the unknown factors of not seeing a team play yet.

So for fun purposes here are My NCAA picks for Thursday and Friday.

UTEP is getting 3.5 at Buffalo. I'll take UTEP with the points and take the under at a high 59.5 Confidence 1 for each pick.

Troy is favored by 6 at Middle Tennessee State I will take Troy with a confidence of 5.

Vanderbilt goes to Miami of Ohio as 3.5 point underdogs. Take Miami with the points. Confidence 1.

Wake Forrest is an 11 point road favorite at Baylor. Take the Demon Deacons with the points and the over of 50.5. Confidence 5 for both picks.

North Carolina State is a 14 point underdog at South Carolina. With a confidence of 1 I'll take the Gamecocks. I give them a 5 to take the over of 44.5.

In the last game for Thursday night. Oregon State takes on Stanford. The Beavers are 3 point road underdogs and I'll Take them with a confidence of 1. With a confidence of 5 I'll take the over of 45.5.

On to Friday's limited action.

Temple is a 7 point Road Favorite at Army. Army usually keeps them close I'll take them with the points with a confidence of 1. Both teams have had defensive questions the last few years so an over of 41 seem like a good take. Give that a confidence of 5.

June Jones debuts at SMU traveling to Rice. The Mustangs are 3.5 point underdogs, which I will take at a confidence of 1. I will also aim high with the over being 69. The mustangs may be able to duplicate some of the run and shoot but the defense may give up just as much as the offense takes.
