Yoosof Farah's Top Five EPL Players: Matchday Two
Here are my top five players from last weekend in the Barclay's Premier League:
5) Amr Zaki, Wigan Athletic
The Egyptian striker played fantastic in his second game for Wigan. He made a good debut last week against West Ham, scoring Wigan's only goal, and carried his form on into the game against Chelsea.

A key player for Wigan, he was a constant threat to the Blues' defence, always getting involved in Wigan's good chances and had some good shots himself, including a belter of a shot that Petr Cech did very well to parry away.
A good performance and one that should've seen him named man of the match, only for Deco to take the award instead.
4) Elano, Manchester City
The Brazilian playmaker had a great game and deserved to win man of the match. He scored two good goals that brushed off the threat of the 10-man Hammers to give City a comfortbale 3-0 win.
He's once again showing the form he showed last season, and was fantastic against West Ham. Unlucky with a few attempts he had before, he deserved to score and did in the end after terrorising the Hammers' defence.
3) Ricardo Fuller, Stoke City
The Jamaican journeyman was instrumental in Stoke's first ever Premier League victory. He scored a great goal, flicking the ball fantastically over Laursen before slotting perfectly past Brad Friedel.
He was a workhouse for Stoke against Villa, always being involved in Stoke's key chances, and creating quite a few himself. He had a great game and deserved his man of the match award.
2) Vincent Kompany, Manchester City
The young Belgian talent looks like a great signing for City. He was a great player for Hamburg after adjusting to the Bundesliga, and he looks like he's easily adapted to life in the Premier League as well.
A great debut for the Belgian prodigy, looking very comfortable in an out-of-position centre midfield role, as he usually plays as centre-back. A good tough-tackling player, he made great tackles, and has a good eye for a pass, picking out several players in key positions with good, accurate passes.
A great game for the Belgium and one that would've seen him win the man of the match award had Elano not have scored two goals.
1) Shay Given, Newcastle United
The Irishman could be key to Newcastle this season. He played great against Manchester United last week, making several key saves. He didn't have to do as many this week however, but what he did was telling.
He had to be on his toes to keep Davies and co. quiet, and did great to save Kevin Nolan's penalty. That was no doubt the save of the match. He read where the ball was going and reacted quickly enough to save it.
A key player he will be for the Toon this season, and no doubt a lot of strikers in the Premier League will have their work cut out trying to score past him.
What do you think? Are there other players that deserve to be in the top five instead of these ones? As always, please feel free to leave a comment.
